Hey Avitus.Have you thought of giving it the sound file from War of the worlds steven speilberg movie. It could make the same noise as the tripods from that movei.idk lol just giving ideas.
Before it had textures I didn't know how 'Cybran' it looked, but I held my tongue cuz it wasnt finished. Now with textures, I can see all the hard angles and geometry and it does look very cybran. Well done! Cant wait for this.
An idea: what about making the "knees" have some sort of wheels or tracks, and the back part of the head could have some kind of jet propulsion system? This way, the unit can collapse downwards and move really quickly - the fastest moving unit in the game. The trade off would be that it wont be able to fire while in this state.
So fare I have worked fairly much straight out of my head with only very little concept art. I can Model from Concept with no problems but drawing it is very time consuming.
I do all my modeling and rigging with 3D max 12 and all the textures with Photoshop cs4.
What is your preferred field, Art, modeling, rigging, textures?
I have model'd for Company of heroes, and for Men of war mostly small arms
but I have done bigger projects as well, i think of stepping over to 3DS max I currently work with Google Sketchup because its so easy to use, and I currently own photoshop SC5
These are old pictures, and i have vastly improved and work quite fast thing like the tripod will be hard but stuff like the artillery tank will not be so tough
Man...This thing looks boss. It really looks more cybran now with the jagged edges and such. Very nice job! I think I am starting to like the old cybran team colors better than the new ones.
OK so I heard or read that you might be having some difficulty or probly not but I was watching the Vid on the Walker and noticed that it really didn't look like the legs could be doing what they should... Not trying to be a jerk but I would just like to put this forword to show that this might be a good Walking concept for the Trypod.
Watch the vid and see how that try pod walks, Just a thought :)
very nice looks very cool
cant wait to see how this thing move.. would think it would be very hard to make a good looking animation for this thing
i think there will be a video for this unit too

looks like an experimental sniper since it only has one weapon?
the model looks awesome and the textures make it look like an official unit BTW.
This is awesome also do you do this with or without concept art? and what program do you use for modeling?
maybe i could help ;)

Nice, it looks like you have the basics of modeling down, I highly recommend you get 3DS max 12 it's very good and not to hard to use.
Can you model from your head like me or do you prefer concept art?
If you like concept art, will you need me to draw you some or do you think you can handle the designing of units your self.
Have you ever modeled Sci-Fi units and buildings before?
Do you have a steam ID or xfire so we can talk more.
Yes i Have Xfire : 69xxx96
I prefer Concept art but i can draw it myself, and the closest to sci-fi is the last picture haha so i'm kinda excited to start.
I sent a friend invite to your Xfire account XD
Angelic, I also just sent you a friend invite to your xfire account.
Avitus, what is your account name for xfire? Or, you could just send me an invite: madfac3

I agree cheese
Tripods? Quickly, put pants on the tanks!
The upper bit reminds me of the Collectors from ME2. Awesome!
reminds of something out of universe at war
You should replace the Cyraxs with this. :3
please say it has a heat ray! like war of the worlds
Is this going to be in the next version?
(It looks amazing and i cant wait to get it)
I see some elements borrowed from the walkers from Area 51
