If you guys are supposed to be a serious realism mod, then for for the love of (insert deity) do the sights correctly. Bring a gun up to your face... did your eyeballs just pop 20 feet out of your head? Seems the only guys to ever get this right are the devs of Red Orchestra.

Otherwise, looking very nice there. Looking forward to the public beta.
Consider it an early "eyes focusing" effect, sure it's not very realistic, but it restricts your peripheral (the major effect you'd want) and helps you to aim (the other gameplay effect you want). We may ditch it later (although probably still have a very slight zoom) and overlay a nice bluriness to the edges of the screen.

I think that's one of the things RO got wrong. You can't see well enough in a game, a zoom is needed so you can fight at ranges that you can in real life. It's hard to fight even at 100+m in RO because of the lack of a zoom and how it "ticks" instead of moving smoothly.

RO did a great job with the sights. Hope this mod does something similar, tho you don't zoom in 40x in real life, you do zoom in oh say...1x still.
So it doesn't really matter, i trust this mod'll be great.
Btw i love the grassy'ness in this mod, loads of cover for sneaking and sniper cover =)
