Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

Indeed the Republic was cripled and they would have lost is Palpatine didn't gave that order....in fact, that's one of the most stupid things in the prequels....HE REALLY CREATED AN IDEALISTIC WAR, JUST TO GET VADER(and other less important things)!? Dude there were many easier ways, but ok....
The CIS Army is far more organized in structure, ships and army. People keep saying that Cis only win by quantity, but the same people have to consider that Cis Armaments are way better, such as the Space Ships.
Actually the CIS would never have had a chance to win, Palpatine used the CIS to get him his posistion in power. the CIS made Cortosis Driods, immune to Lightsabers. Sidious allowed the information to fall into the hands of the Jedi so the CIS wouldn't win the war. He had done that Countless times, It was all a political move.
Not all CIS Arments were better. Army? Clones were often considered the most Efficeint Military Force the galaxy has ever seen. Ships? GAR Ships eventually led to the ships of the Empire, which were some of the largest and most powerful. For the CIS, their superiority in numbers was their biggest advantage in the war. The Republic was easily as organized in structure and other things as the CIS. And true, he wanted Skywalker because to reasons: 1) He had the potential to be the most powerful being in Force History (even more powerful than Yoda and Palpatine himself) and 2) Anakin is the Chosen One, with him on the Dark Side no one can ''Restore Balance.''
