Recombinant Incorporated, a company unknown to the Combine, developed a facility to re-purpose Combine technology shortly after the Seven Hour War. It started with weapons and other equipment, but when RI enticed resistance members to capture live Combine Soldiers for them (with the promise of food and a "safe" place to live and work), a new venture was created.
Recombinant quickly developed a way to clone Combine DNA to make entirely new soldiers who could be manipulated to work for the Resistance. Rather than changing the thought processes of each individual Recombinant Soldier, however, RI created a machine that could alter the behavior of soldiers that contained the re-engineered DNA.
Because of this new breakthrough, RI invited Gordon Freeman to tour the re-purposing facility. Naturally, as with all of Gordon's adventures, things go downhill very quickly. The behavior modification system malfunctions, allowing each and every Recombinant Soldier to revert back to their original state as Combine Soldiers. They overrun the facility as Resistance members attempt to keep the rogue soldiers from escaping to the outside world.
Now it's up to Gordon Freeman to find the behavior modifier and reset the system before the Resistance fails to keep the soldiers at bay.

Sorry about the complete lack of updates!
Work and school is still taking up a lot of my time. I'm working on bits and pieces of the storyline in what little free time I have and I have a good bit of the mod planned. It'll be relatively short, but I want to include as much detail and story as possible. An episodic release model is not planned at the moment, but that may change if I see that I simply can't include everything I have planned in a single release.
If time permits, I may post a few more concept screenshots here and there. The introductory scene shown in the teaser may be completely reworked, so I'll show you all the development shots on the new intro when the time comes. My biggest mistake was designing the scene around the textures rather than the textures around the scene.

i want this mod so bad, when i first saw this mod a while ago i was like? Good combine?! WTF!!! GOD!!!! *extreme mod bashing and flame!!!* but as i can see the terriffic progress, i want this mod and it looks awesome. (also i know most likely my opinion is minute but uh im very picky bout hl2 mods lol)

interesting mod, I really find it funny that whenever Gordon appears something bad happens, I laughed when I read the part that Gordon comes and the recombinate turn back to their former selves in a way said :D

it doesnt really matter if the story doesnt follow the hl universe. personally, im open to seeing alternate versions of the combine.
If this is supposed to be a story that adds and is supposed to fit in with the story of half life 2, its way off. Combine soldiers are actually transhumans. In the seven hour war, advisors overran the earth, quickly outnumbering all the militarys in the world put together, and almost completely massacred the human race, if breen hadn't negotiated a truce with them, making him the president of the last generation of the human race. With the combines overpowering technology, they put a brainwashing material in the water, supposedly killed all children, and put up a suppression feild over the earth turning off all humans "urges". They captured humans, and turned them into either stalkers, or the combine overwatch. They also started sucking up earths resources, which can be seen in the game. Until Freeman arrived somewhere between the years 2020 and 2030, humanity didn't stand a chance against the combine. But still, I have to admit this looks like a really fun mod, and I am really wanting to play it.
Thank you for the compliment. Sure, I can't explain where the mod takes place in the current HL2 series in terms of a timeline. But, I fail to see anything in my outline that contradicts the current HL2 storyline. Can you elaborate on that part?
Apparently, not all humans were overpowered. Example: the Resistance. If the Combine had taken away ALL urges, wouldn't the urge to rebel against a higher power be one to go? I realize it may be a little hard to believe that the Combine didn't know about the creation of Recombinant Incorporated and instantly wipe it out, but that part will be explained in the future.
As for the Combine being Transhuman, how does that make my story "way off"? They still have DNA, correct? Just because they are in a post-human stage doesn't mean they can't be further enhanced or manipulated (as Recombinant Incorporated is doing).
Well, actually what i meant by urges, is, well, um, i can explain in a pm, because its pretty much mature content. I thought what you wanted to do with the story was the combine overwatch arrived on earth with the original combine themselves. But i can clearly see that you are not trying to do that.
