Development on Recombinant has started. As you can see from the current screenshots, I'm testing things out in a boring dev-textured room. I know it doesn't exactly get you all excited about things to come, but at least you can see some progress, right?
Rather than spend a lot of time in the initial stages with mapping, I've decided to pull all of my ideas into a single testbed map (kind of like what Valve did in the Betas and such). I'll be posting some videos of my experiments and things over the course of the next few weeks.
I'm still learning the new Source SDK tools (particle editor, material editor, etc) so don't expect anything too monumentally awesome in those areas until I have time to wrap my head around how those things work. My main area of interest for the moment is achieving a cinematic introduction which I have all planned out in my head. The real issue is recreating it in Source.
