Thanks. Anyway, on this comparison people can easily see, that the Missile BC has less mass but more room for weapons (top missile launcher, frontal guns) and that's exactly how it's going to work in game.

Two front BC pulse cannons. I'm still not sure about the point defense lances, maybe two of them.
I'd leave out the pulse lances. I get the feeling that the point of the MBC is loads of firepower, but it's left somewhat vulnerable. I'd imagine that a fighter attack would even be able to disable it's primary attack capability, greatly reducing it's usefulness and there by leaving it even more vulnerable to frigates or destroyers.

It looks like the Vagyr Missile BC fits into the vagyr regular BC. If you flipped it upside down in kind of would ;D!
How many missiles are you planning on this M-BC firing per salvo?
Going off the top of my head (please correct me, anyone, my memory sucks);
The DD fires 4?
The BC fires 8?
This Missile BC could fire 12 per salvo without that being too much.
What was your thinking?
I don't know yet. 12 or 14 I guess.
Ok. Guess I'm curious as to how this beast will operate, specifically how the missile launching will go, what kind of re-load times you were considering etc.
I was imagining it launching 3 groups of 4 missiles in fairly rapid succession for the total of 12 as it's normal behavior, with a 'Special Attack' button where you can mass-launch all twelve missiles at a particular target, with a longer re-load time penalty.
Would something like that be even possible?
Hey sorry for the delay, I don't have much time these days.
It should be pretty easy to bind it to the E key (like an emp special attack), but I haven't try it yet. It's very simple to change the weapon behaviour with the research, but that's not the same.
Anyway if I make a special attack from this, it can't share the reload times, those two different salvos would be two separate weapons.

3. Kinda. Take a look at the Vaygr frigates and corvettes and imagine about the same amount of units for Hiigarans. Add about 4-5 Destroyers for each side, some BCs, Supercarrier for Vaygr and a few more fighters (just a few, unlike TFS I don't find them that important). And then the new things like the Battlestations or Battleships etc.
hey Pouk what kind of program you use to make these models? i would like to create some ships or redo some like the taiidans. ive been looking around but im not sure how to do it.like instead of re-texture homeworld 1 ships i would like to know what program i can use to open up the homeworld 1 model, and edit it, like improve the details and weapons. for example i would like to open up the taiidan heavy cruiser model and upgrade the details and graphics, guns, ion cannons etc and then texture it so that it fits in with homeworld 2 graphics. if you can help it would be great, i wanna learn this texture and modeling craft so i can be of help and also create my own ships.

thanks guys, wow i tried to do the taiidan heavy cruiser today and its freaking hard!!! how to you do this Pouk?? you make it seem so easy..
First I suggest to look at some tutorials on the site and download all the necessary tools (CFHodEd is just basic).
And now what are you asking about? About modelling? There's only one help -practice. Or can't you work with Hod files? Tutorials will help, also CFHodEd has its manual.

yea i know what you mean and thanks for replying. yes, i mean the modeling. like for instance i have all the tools to work with except for maya.but the other day i wanted to work with the taiidan heavy cruiser so what i did was, opened the peo.file from the homeworld big into 3d exploration, then i saved the best layer as a obj. file. then i took all of the layers and made shade and glow layers out of all of them, put them all in cfhoded and followed the step given to me by the fx team. and when i was done i had a hod.file of the taiidan heavy cruiser. but then i was stuck because i didn't know how to make an event file or a weapon file for it because homeworld 1 doesn't have those. I know the taiidan heavy cruiser has 6 turrets and 2 ion cannon turrets but i dont know how to give it that and make sure the game recognizes the turrets and the location of the turrets. the other thing i was trying to do is remodel the cruiser instead of re texturing it. but that was harder because i know i have to use wings 3d to make the model but then how to you texture it and make it look like it belongs in homeworld 2 and not homeworld 1. for example i would like to make the taiidan heavy cruiser like the way these guys made this pirate attack carrier with awesome details and textures. Use event file of some other ship and modify it. The same with everything else: weapons, subsystems etc.

Wait a minute "i know i have to use wings 3d to make the model...". That's not true, use any software you want and you're familiar with and then just export it to .obj. I don't use Wings3D.
Textures: I don't know what to say to it, just rescale it and add the details.
It's good to find a HW2 modding group that is still going. I've gotten into HW2 again recently, playing it and wanting to modify ships and finally create my own. I've been doing game development professionally for about 10 years now, and have some pretty strong delivered titles. But I'm interested to hear what you and other modelers, especially 3ds max users, have to say about creating functional units for HW2. I've been reading through the RDN tutorials on how to do things, and so far it's relatively clear, but ground-level experience with other 3ds users tells a more useable story, and getting ahold of functional utitlities and programs for Vista is getting harder as the years go on. Perhaps you or someone could direct me to a site that still has them. If I can get this all working, I'd like to make a model that's similar to the living planets Unicron or Primus (Transformers) just for kicks.

REARM is all being done solely by Pouk.
There isn't really a 'group' as such.
He's gotten some scripting help, and some donated ships (Kadeshi & the Pulse DD), and there is a small group helping testing and such, but creatively; it's ALL Pouk, which is rather incredible I think.
With no-one else, he doesn't have to compromise, which a lot of us seem to like (myself included).
I don't know if Pouk's seen your comment here, it's a fair way back in time.
I assume you'll PM him though too, which would be the best way of getting his attention.
