Project HDTP is a High Definition Texture Package for the original Deus Ex game. The original in-game textures were of a very low resolution, some textures even being as low as 32x32. However, it was discovered that it is possible to increase the resolution of those textures to a maximum of 256. This has been tested in-game and we have witnessed the start of a massive graphical overhaul. Features: 1. All new remodelled and retextured Objects. 2. Objects will sport a high resolution of 256. 3. Brand new character models and matching high resolution skins. 4. Character models are more individual. For example each guard/trooper type will now have its own model instead of using the generic one. 5. Character models now have their own fingers (removing the 'mittens' effect). 6. Models that require animation will be full animated from scratch to compliment the higher quality feel. 7. Characters look darker and more moody to enhance the game play experience. 8. Vehicle models and weapons...

I think you may have gone a little overboard with the wear on that gas tank, but otherwise, nice job.

Yeah, the Napalm Canister and the Barrel looks as if its intersecting. Not to mention those rings around the barrel have too much depth. They are suppose to be like the rail attachment on top of a MP7except on the sides, where as its not suppose to be round either.

Rheimus, were you trying to go for in a different direction from the original Deus Ex version?

For the original Flamethrower, check this out

rheimus Mar 23 2009 says:

heh, ill make a less degraded version of the tank an send it to M. The intersecting is part of the model itself.. not really much i can do about that besides remaking the mesh entirley and as for the different direction, for the most part i was trying to follow the origonal but it just didnt look right.. made it look kinda flat and boring. I'll try messing around with it some more to see if i can get it looking right.

You know what, i say screw it, the uber-degraded version looks great. Cause honestly, flamethrowers aren't exactly a common item and the only ones that you'd get a hold of are ones that have been put together with scrappy items. I like it.

Not bad, but not delicious. In-game photo would be better(if it's imported :P). Anyway it looks better than vanilla so yeah, u've succeeded.

Yeah, I understand your reasoning Rheimus. This is where I say you guys would really benefit from a decent conceptual artist.

Concept artists are only needed for mods that aren't remake mods.

We have the originals to use as references.

We don't want to alter the original concepts only improve upon them.

well... it looks great, I will say that, I knew there would be meshing problems but the thing that struck out to me was the degraded looking gas canister and then a nice clean sleek looking barrel etc but yep, excellent job and also the other less degraded flamethrower looked as if it had a moss infestation.

rheimus Mar 28 2009 says:

well, you do find the flamethrower itself in fairly fancy places so it would be nice n clean.. but you find the canisters all over the place so it kinda makes sense in a way to have a difference between the two. If it were possible it would be nice to have a varying textures on the tank so that every time you reload the texture changes a little to suggest that your tanks are picked up from different places. It could be done sortof by having fancy flamethrowers in places like UNATCO HQ and crappy ones in NY and grungy places, but HDTP isint changing things like that.. just the textures an models im pretty sure

I think the flamer (excluding the napalm canister) is too dark. Good job still.

Flamethrower is being completley remade, with less rounded barrel and no clipping issues with the tank. Texture will probably stay the same though for the most part
