The shuttle you were supposed to catch left you behind, stranded in Mars City. Your mission is to locate the missing agent Samuel Calloway. One way or the other. As you make your way through the base, you slowly start to remember things from your past.
Prerequisites
Latest version of Doom 3 and latest version of Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil. Doom 3: Phobos does not work with Doom 3: BFG Edition or any NON-Windows version of Doom 3 and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil.
You do not need to download Phobos - Episode 1 in order to play Episode 2. Episode 1 is included.
Dhewm3 or any other port does not support Phobos. Play Phobos with vanilla Doom 3 and Doom 3: RoE

Installation
Unpak the folder named ‘tfphobos’ into the root of your Doom 3 installation folder. If you have Episode 1 installed make sure to overwrite all files. Do not rename the folder.
You can not start Doom 3: Phobos through the Doom 3 or Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil mod list in the menu.
You need to create a shortcut with ‘Target’ Eg: "[Doom3Dir]\DOOM3.exe" +set fs_game tfphobos +set fs_game_base d3xp.
Or place the Phobos.bat file in the root folder of Doom 3 and run that.
If you own Doom 3 and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, through steam you can also set +set fs_game tfphobos +set fs_game_base d3xp under the Doom 3 properties via the Steam client.
We do not guarantee the original campaign or multiplayer in Doom 3 or Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil to work with Doom 3: Phobos. Neither do we guarantee any additional mods you install on your own, will work with Doom 3: Phobos.
If you experience any problems, please try and have Doom 3: Phobos installed on a fresh copy of Doom 3 and Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, with no other mods installed.
There is no CD-KEY window in Doom 3: Phobos. If you are playing Doom 3: Phobos with a fresh install of Doom 3 you need to start up Doom 3 without Doom 3: Phobos, and insert your CD-KEY.
For AMD users experiencing any problems (Thanks to Stradex and Anton for telling us):
1. Create a copy of doom3.exe called phobos.exe
2. Edit the .bat file to use Phobos.exe
If you experience any other weird graphics issues try and disable HDR and bloom if the mod uses it.

Played Both the episodes today and let me tell you that you guys didn't disappoint the second episode, is just as good as the first and the awesome thing is longer, fantastic job and can't wait to play the third episode.

Just played through Episode 2...moved it, wished there was more Arachnotron fights and the puzzles kinda sucked, and got lost with the bomb at the end, but otherwise, was amazing. 4 of 5. Can't wait until Episode 3.

Awesome UAC maps- They don't feel like a closed corridor some of the orig. D3 maps did, also custom GUI screens that actually work equipment were nice too.
The "story" maps are kinda 3edgy5me but it felt good that there were no jumpscares, even tho I walked thru some empty corridors in the "dream" with my eyes barely open :D and I even manage to keep up with the plot.
I'm having some trouble getting this to run. I've freshly installed Doom 3 + the expansion (not BFG edition), and when I try to start the mod, I get this error message:

How do you launch Phobos? It seems like you're not launching Doom 3 with the expansion
I installed Phobos into my Doom 3 folder, where the base folder and d3xp folders are. I then try to launch the mod with the Phobos batch file provided. Doom 3 fires up, and I see a new loading screen (which seems to imply its reading some of the mod files), but then it hits that error I wrote above.
I see in the batch that its suppose to launch Doom 3 with the expansion already loaded? But maybe that's not happening? I'm not sure.
Perhaps you don't have the "Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil" add-on and is causing the error? The Phobos mod uses the resources of this expansion.
I thought I did have the expansion, but maybe it's not installed properly. I'll double-check that and see if that's the issue.

The graphics settings aren't holding. I change them to 4:3, 1600, 1200, and restart video, and the screen flashes and the settings stay as I set them, but the settings text video is still blurry and unreadable

I can't read the diary in the beginning. It's not zoomed in enough. Am I doing something wrong or are other people experiencing this as well?
At what resolution did you played the mod? I've not tested it but it felt to me that readable GUI's were a tad small at 1080p, so I assume they become even smaller at higher resolutions.
Can you make your mod compatible with dhewm? Any plan for it?

The lack of Linux support is frustrating considering Doom 3 is a cross-platform game and a significant fraction of the remaining player base plays from Linux since Doom 3 is open source.

Doesn't work for me,after I select the difficulty,it shows the loading bar,then just goes back to the menu,I do have D3 and RoE Steam versions installed,and I've put the command in the steam launch paramater.

DOOM 3 Phobos RTGI Ray Tracing - best DOOM 3 mod ever - DOOM 3 meets Half-Life
This mod is absolutely fantastic. Incredible production quality across the board. I gotta ask, is it possible at all to have the gameplay changes (ie. weapons, enemy AI, etc) ported over to the main Doom 3 game? I just can't go back after playing this.
Side note, is there any way to adjust the pistol to move it to its default position away from the center of the screen? I can appreciate it as a nod to classic Doom, but it practically blinds you whenever you shoot it with it being where it is.

Anyone is free to port the gameplay changes over to Vanilla Doom 3 or change the pistol to the vanilla Doom 3 view. But its not something we will spend time on doing. We're working hard on the next episode.

Hey, so I'm progressing through Episode 2 and I wanted to give a bit of feedback. SPOILERS for those who haven't completed it yet.
There's a section during a flashback scene with Lee in which you read her diary, and things in there get... really graphically sexual. It just feels kinda exploitative, it's a very different mood from what's in the rest of the game, and it doesn't feel like a very authentically written piece from what we've seen so far from Lee's character. Not to mention the characters seem pretty young, living with their parents and whatnot, and while their ages aren't specifically stated they seem to be at the very least teen-coded in the flashbacks, and reading that diary just made me feel skeevy in an otherwise excellent experience.
I hope you guys will consider re-writing that piece of the game. It's small, maybe a little inconsequential, but I've been really hooked with the story you've been telling and that part just took me right out, and truthfully made me a bit uncomfortable.

I first want to say that the mod is incredible and very well done, the effort is very noticeable.
However, i have an issue with episode 2. I played episode 1 without any mayor issue (it was incredible btw) but when i try to start Episode 2, it starts loading, but then the game closes; it doesn't show me any crash log or something. I have tried what it says in the readme file (Creating a .exe copy and rename it to phobos, edit the bat file, disable bloom) but it stays the same.
i have both Doom 3 and RoE (Steam) in case you're wondering.
How do I start EP2, my game ends after that Cacodemon like boss ?

So I just installed this mod, dragged the files to the doom3.exe folder and I got to run it through the DOOM 3 game but none of the missions want to start. Just kicks me back to the main menu when it tries to load the episode. So I tried the .bat file and it gives me a error 5 seconds after it starts to load the file.
