Level Design, Programming and Story by LANDVAETTR

You are on vacation in the south of France, invited by an old friend who settled there a few year ago. Not far from the village stills stand the ruins of a very old castle, set on top of a massive rocky spur. Not much remains of the ancient fortress but a few collapsed walls already erroded by time. Yet you've decided to give it a closer look, after all the view from the top of that mountain would be breathtaking by itself. You are there, wandering amongst these old stones, when the rain starts pouring down. You are looking for some shelter, when suddenly...

This is my first Custom Story.
I've been working on it for a whole year, on my spare time. I hope you'll enjoy.

Please don't forget to rate and review when you've completed the mod.

Most of the issues of the first version have been attended to. So if you have played V.1 PLEASE modify your review/rating or at least notify you played the Alpha, not the latest version. Thanks to all :)

  • Instils fear through a tense and stressful environment
  • Top notch Level Design
  • No irrelevant jumpscares.
  • Complex backgound story, embedded in a strong historical context.
  • Many notes (hope you like to read: I like to write)
  • Many puzzles to solve.
  • 3-5hours of gameplay (depending on your pace/wits/choices)
  • 10 maps from medium to huge, over 40 rooms.
  • 3 alternative endings depending on the choices you make.
  • Best played in the dark, with low gamma and headphones, alone (and obviously turn off the useless hints of the game.)
  • Only available in English version.
  • Detailled PDF walktrough inside the CS folder.

Have a nice time shitting your pants in the dungeons of PEIRAPRIGOND!! >:)

So far this is one of my favorite custom stories. I love its environment and story. My sense of direction is not that good but even so I made considerable progress. Thank you so much.
You really put a lot of effort into this game.

Hi and thanks for playing Peiraprigond!

I'm very glad you liked my CS.

Unfortunately I do not have the time to map/script another cs now but one day who knows.

Fantastic story! Love the atmosphere and setting, your writing and storyline is great and the keys and tools are harder to find which makes it more interesting and challenging. But, in the notes, it is a bit too much and i know you said that in your description and they are great because you are a great writer, but some people may not want to read that much(like me at te start, lol) but may miss something in them.... But other than that it is fantastic, one of my favourite custom story and keep up the good work! Looking forward to playing other stories from you! :) (By the way, have you go any others?)

Hi Kammiexxx! Thanks for playing Peiraprigond and for your review, really glad you liked my CS (It's nice to still have some feedback i thought no-one played it anymore XD)

Yes the cs is a bit hard, especially finding the crowbar (obviously too poorly hinted, so the walkthrough comes in handy).
Concerning the notes it's clearly a story driven mod, I'm glad you were able to appreciate it eventually. :)

Unfortunately I don't have the time to do another CS, I had started one and had a few maps and a storyline but I've got way too many things going to have the time to map/script another cs... :/

Only works I can link you to are my drawings, here's my blog in case you're interested

Anyway thx for the feedback mate, cheers :)

Started playing Peiraprigond about a month ago and eventually stopped, because of several irrelevant problems .
I have to say,it's a very ingenious custom story,a bit of history touch here, and there, and a nicely build atmosphere !
I will restart playing this cs from the beginning, and I will rate it as soon as I finish it !

Thank you for playing Peiraprigond!

Hope you will like my story. Some puzzles are pretty hard to solve so if you get really stuck there's a PDF walktrough inside the Peiraprigond folder.

Yeah to be fairly honnest there probably are some little issues with the scripts in that last part. this CS was such a nightmare to script since the gameplay is a free roam in the same areas, while new events/trigers are constantly trigered, with so much variables the scripting makes your head spin. And this last part with 3 endings was tricky.
i remember the closure of the project was lingering into a nightmarish perfectionistic frenzy. I was very tired and AMFP was to be released as anytime so I was afraid that the release of my CS would stay unoticed. So once it worked I didn't linger on beta testing, otherwise the story would never have been released.
I should probably fix these scripts but I'm on other projects right now.

Anyway thanks a bunch for the feedback and the review mate, much appreciated :)

No worries, these kinds of issues are often almost impossible to foresee. Since players rarely know what to do, they tend to try random stuff, and do things in different ways and orders the modder can't possibly prepare for. As long as there's a way around it (like in this case), it's no biggie. Cheers!

Enjoyed this CS and also feared some parts too. However, there are some things you could improve: --> Use more paragraphs in the letters to make them more appellative to read: people will look at the walls of text and be turned off immediately, relying in the mementos instead, only to find later that the letters actually had hints in the middle of the text. --> Some stuff was really hard to find like the crowbar and the key in the excavation site. No hints were given towards the crowbar at…
