Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.

Wow thanks! I was wondering what was causing my pics to look so bad since my computer crashed.

Few things I like for a wallpaper:

-Have something centrally interesting... a focus on one ship, on an explosion, etc. Then have other less prominent ships sprinkled about, but definitely don't have any ships or objects that are so far away that they can't be clearly seen. The other wallpaper suffers that mistake.
-Make sure there's room on the sides of the wallpaper where it is blank enough to put shortcuts. It's a pain when a wallpaper is awesome, but there's no place to put your icons without them either being hard to see, or having them block part of the object(s) of interest
-Forget the photoshop boarder... just take the picture with some room on all sides for two rows of icons. I could see some fading to black or other color on the left/right of the picture, but that will probably be hard to make look good in a Homeworld screenshot
-Yes, photoshopping the image is okay... clean that explosion up, remove those pieces of wreckage, maybe apply some filters and see the result. If no filters make it look better, then they probably are making it look worse, so just go with the non manipulated version. But whatever you do, make sure that it can't be noticed in the final version. With a wallpaper, it's much easier to spot photoshopped parts than with a smaller image
-Don't put a big watermark in the center of the screen... have you any sense? It's not even centered! If you're going to put a logo on the wallpaper, put it in one of the corners.
-Make your wallpapers the maximum size of each primary aspect ratio... 16:10, 16:9, 3:2, and 4:3. So for instance, I would do all my picture taking and editing with a 1680x1050 image (which is the largest 16:10 aspect ratio today), and then cut down the edges (NOT scaling, cutting off the edges...) to make the largest possible versions of the other aspect ratios.

I have.

.
I don't have to spend my time sharing any of my tips, you know. I do it as a courtesy - sharing what I have noticed and discovered about various things. I criticize a lot to show developers where (I think) they can improve. I may see things that the developer hadn't noticed. Good critics inform developers specifically how to improve, rather than just stating that something could be improved. That is why I 'tell stories'.
.
Of course I am human, and I have preferences and opinions, and those make their way into my suggestions. If you want something different, you must speak up. I can't help it if most people don't speak up as much as I do, and if I am the only one that voices suggestions for improvement.

I'm actually glad you do speak up.

Not to say I agree with everything you say. I have my views, you have yours. The art there is weeding out what's personal oppinion and what's not. But you DO make valid points which is worth a lot. Even if a lot of that is pointing out obvious stuff.

Next time I stoop low enough to curse everyone with my 2d art skills I'm sure a better wallpaper will ensure because of your 'story'.

Description

An attempt at turning ingame screenshots from Path to Victory into something that can be used as awallpaper.

I'm not entirely sure I've accomplished my goal.
