Long ago, when the word 'Hiigara' rang only as a hollow dream, the kiith of Kharak never imagined they would walk the Path to Victory. But, when they reclaimed their Homeworld and proclaimed themselves 'Hiigaran', they believed they had reached their goal. How wrong they were. 150 years after Hiigaran landfall, conflict rages across the Galaxy... Path to Victory is a multiplayer and skirmish mod for Homeworld 2 that adds new units to both Vaygr and Hiigaran Races as well as enabling the Keepers, Raiders and Kadeshi as playable races.
If you read the last image's description you'll notice I've been adding more research options. One of those is the Plasma Overload upgrade for the Vaygr Warlord Fleet.
Plamsa Overload is a costly technology which allows the Raider fleet's plasma using ships (plasma corvette / destroyer) to not only disable enemy ships but also deal considerable damage by overloading the plasma containment chambers and thus allowing more superheated gas to be fired with each shot.
While this technique isn't entirely safe, Warlord crews seem to think the risk of blowing their own ship up is well worth the added damage (note: this won't happen ingame, don't worry).
Safety first. Well, maybe 34th. No, wait... actually I don't see it on this list... uh, I'm just going to pencil it in below "make sure all the bathrooms have floss."
Floss! I knew I was missing something... hang on, gotta contact the Imperial Logistics Center... think we'll have to wait a few weeks until they manage to resupply us though.
Well I think that just we'll have to press on without such vital equipment :/

Well I suppose we must take boarding action in search of the floss! Surely our enemies must be well stocked in it?

Haha luckily my Raiders are very good at finding their way onto other ships :P
as i am sure that all your time will now be spent rectifying the paramount calamity of the floss, can't u just make the use of plasma overload damage the ship that uses it every time it fires as it would fit in with the safety issue
As I can't determine when the ship has fired via script, this is kinda hard xD
However I may implement some downsides to plasma overload (i.e. heavily damaged ships are likely to blow up randomly or such) however it's not something I've looked at yet.
And the floss is of vital importance to the state! Do not forget that xD
maybe you can take some hit points off the plasma-wielding ships when they use this ability?
