Orange Sun enhances Tiberian Sun & Firestorm greatly including campaign and increases the gameplay possibilities while remaining the original feel of the game. Basically a rebalancing together with new content and lots of spleen. Now features the Campaign+ modifications.
Some of the new units might be obscure to some in what they are good at, what they are designed for and how they fit into the game. I'm also implementing them into the campaign so that players can face and experience them.
The plasma tank is a limited unit available to Nod after the Montauk is built. As its look suggests it can't take much damage but deals out quite well. It corrupts the battlefield with the tiberium gas which has the same effect as ordinary gas. As such is great for area denial especially vs infantry and lightly armored units. The rather high range and speed aid to its purpose of hit and run. Damage wise the weapon is quite poor, the gas on the other hand does most of the killing.
Honestly, as if Infantry weren't already worthless...
I don't think you should add many things like this. Counters Vs Infantry are already so many, and Infantry are squishy and over-expensive in the first place.
I kinda wish someone would make infantry actually make a difference.
the only prob with that is if inf was any good you would be spammed with it all the time. but yea i agree it is too bad troops are worthless
hmm I'll take a look into it. Keep in mind the infantry in my mod is much stronger than it used to be in the original game. Some are very deadly when there's no dedicated anti infantry to stop them. The mod is also a lot about unit synergy, mixing different kind of units together and using them well is much more effective than just building one sort of unit in masses. That is the design I have in mind and would say its working out. This may not show when fighting vs the AI because its so dumb.
Also I can guarantee that infantry are far from worthless. In some cases still a bit underwhelming which I will look into. The campaign now also has the new units implemented and acts a bit like a tutorial.
I'll show some of the infantry capabilities next.
If you know about specific units not being as good as they should be do tell I'll look into that as well.
oh btw there have been some small changes to GDI. the amphibious transport can hold 8 infantry now. the first hero up to 10.
