This is work in progress. We have a wishlist and are interested if people like to play the legacy rules at all. It currently features

  • The same values as found in the original RULES.INI (cost, speed, strength, rate of fire, ...)
  • All the maps shipped by Westwood
  • Fog of War removed
  • Multiple production buildings will provide speedup
  • Left-click orders (via Settings)

Please note: Red Alert Classic Mod - for OpenRA v20160508

Available here: Members.quicknet.nl In the 'Downloads' section.

Nothing hacky, just changed the rules and weapon yaml files. This way a lot of things could be adjusted back to the classic game.

If someone wants to mirror this, that is fine.

Regards, Gerwin

As I see you ceased development on this mod. Please reconsider your decision. I find gameplay changes made in Open RA unnecessary (basically this is new game now with RA/TD graphics). This mod was a hope to recreate actual game in HD. I sincerely hope that you will carry on your great work.

I like the multiple production buildings will speed up build times, that is a huge win for me.

I really like the menus but thats it. I prefer the new playstyle. Still like the modding-distribution. Keep on rocking.
