Omega Wing
Half-Life mod | Released Oct 5, 2003
Omega Wing is a Space Sim/Deathmatch Multiplayer mod for Half-Life heavily based on descent. Featuring full 360 degree movement and an assortment of weapons and ships, eventually there will be team based modes as well.
Now that the intro is out of the way..
I started working on Omega Wing a week ago, and progress has been very steady. I've released 6 Alpha's, the latest is available on the page.
It needs custom content, right now most of the models/sounds are hacked descent3 models. But theres a few new designs already on the way! I'll be updating this description when this changes.
So far the weapons/items completed are:
Lasers
Super Lasers
Plasma
Vulcan Cannon
Quad Lasers
Concussion Missiles
Homing Missiles
Smart Missiles
Afterburner Regulator

Alright, starting in the new year, either after FLFD is out, or after the next Household DEATH! Release, DD and I are going to Get back to work on a new version of Omega Wing, with the new cockpit, and some more maps.
I've got a lot of plans out for one more version of this before HL2 comes out.
The BIGGEST planned change imo, is that i'm going to totally re-write all the mouse and keyboard input to make it on-par with the joystick support that i personally can't even test at the moment (my flight stick died in like, june. :X )

I have no ETA on the next release, however, if everything goes as planned there will be Teamplay, new input/control (fixed mouse support), and more models and weapons!
and more importantly: some more maps!

In a few months you will be REQUIRED to use steam, so i don't feel like retaining compatibility with something thats not getting updated anymore.

the latest versions of HL (which are only in steam) have features i need.

I have test the mod. Work. The space map can go better. I am not a Descent fan. Good work.

Well, since my P3 died i've barely worked on the mod. I've done a few things, but nothing spectacular. I'm still waiting on some models to be complete, and then i'll release 0.7
Sorry about the delay for you people that care.
All i need to put my new system (P4) together is a new motherboard/RAM, then i'll be kickin out the updates a lot quicker (way way way less time to compile, etc, and i'll be more motivated)
