Omega Wing is a Space Sim/Deathmatch Multiplayer mod for Half-Life heavily based on descent. Featuring full 360 degree movement and an assortment of weapons and ships, eventually there will be team based modes as well.
Now that the intro is out of the way..
I started working on Omega Wing a week ago, and progress has been very steady. I've released 6 Alpha's, the latest is available on the page.
It needs custom content, right now most of the models/sounds are hacked descent3 models. But theres a few new designs already on the way! I'll be updating this description when this changes.
So far the weapons/items completed are:
Lasers
Super Lasers
Plasma
Vulcan Cannon
Quad Lasers
Concussion Missiles
Homing Missiles
Smart Missiles
Afterburner Regulator
Remember, its still in alpha stage, and if you would like to lend a hand (i've done everything by myself so far) Let me know!

OWING's premature death has been narrowly averted. Interest was regained both on my part, as well as due to various fans who've contacted me, and development on at least one more full version of owing has commenced!
On this note, I have released RC2 of Omega Wing 1.0 (which may, or may not be the real final release for Half-Life, depending on feedback/support).
Please playtest it and report everything you can to the owing forums!

Just tried the 0.6 Alpha. Very nice work!
I think you might need to rethink movement though. A lot of people who play HL are used to the WASD type controls, so I encourage you to possibly adapt the control scheme around that. I had lots of trouble simply moving around for a while, and I'm not too sure if people will play a modification if the controls/perspective have too much of a learning curve.

I find it odd that the only people to compare it to something, compare it to forsaken. which i've NEVER played. Haven't any of you ever played descent 1, 2, or 3?
Without ever playing forsaken, i'll say that it's more like descent than forsaken. If anything forsaken copied descent, much like I have so far. teehee.
You should make it not like forsakin but more of your own type and with a twist of new school gaming, like anime perhaps, make it more like i dunno ummm robotech or something mixed with a anime blend like my idea you should add a gatling gun for more intresting gameplay and a multi-rocket launcher and maybe some music with aliittle no alot of eye candy and make it more futuristic battle star galactica with a feel of halo the banshee
to not cut you down but let you know from a fan "It gets old Quick" and i mean it with my loving heart for gaming, work hard add the effects you know the world of future gamers will enjoy.

hey hi hello, this is my first glance at this mod and the name is what brought me to this holy mod place and i can say that this feeling of excitment for your mod has made me proud that the world of hl does have people who know how to mod

I just changed the status to public beta released (so its more obvious that its downloadable) but remember; its still only in alpha! but its available, and i welcome the reporting of any bugs you may find; besides whatever i've documented in the readme files!
Banking while turning isn't complete but its already playable. you can download it on the download page.
There is no option on modDB for "Public alpha released"
which is why it says internal, since all my alpha releases are public, but they're not beta.
i like the concept, being a fan of space flight sims...is it going to have space flight phsyics.. i.e. opponents can come at you from anywahere, cuz there is no up or down
