Office Complex is a recreation of the chapter of the same name from the game Half-Life. This mod aims bring Half-Life to the Source Engine, showing that Half-Life: Source could have been much more, even if it was closer to a remastering than a remake.

The 4th one is usable. Not to be harsh or anything but I don't like the first 3 either. 4th and 5th are fine. Nice to see the mod's progressing, now that Black Mesa Source is so near we'll have 2 Source versions of Office Complex :D

The last/latest one definitely does look very 'natural' and fitting.
Though keep the first one lying around maybe, looks good and smooth, maybe for someone else to use or something else in future.

I think the first one COULD be usable if the creases between the bricks were deeper. The way it looks now makes it almost "flat". And the two-tone color would have to be between the bricks, not in the middle of the brick itself. I do like the 4th one though. It looks more "3D" than the rest and has a bit more detail. Also, are those the permanent colors you've chosen or is it there just for show?

The first one was a 5 min throw together s I could get a general idea. No attention to scaling or anything was payed.
As for the colors, lighting of course makes a huge impact on the way the texture looks. The screenshot of the texture "evolution" was taken under a teal-ish light, but look at this picture: Goo.gl

There's a picture of the original walls from Half-Life, and 2 pictures of our most recent wall texture. We want to stay close to the originals, but a slight change in lighting has a HUGE impact because they don't have much color themselves. I guess what I'm getting at is although we DO want to stay close to the original colors, tweaking the lighting of the level can change everything, so I often find myself switching between the orange and green side of the fence.

Now it's easier to understand. :) I definitely get your point on trying to stay as true to the original as possible but with new light environments.

We haven't uploaded a anything in a while, and I found this to be pretty interest, myself. From left to right, showing all of variations of the same wall texture we've gone through, from oldest to newest, all done by me. I'm actually really ashamed for thinking the first three were usable.

I just wanna say within the past few weeks we've decided to take a jump up in quality.
