The Obsidian Edge Mod is an enhanced game play of the existing two FarCry game types as well as three new game types with many new features. You will be required to lead assaults on defensive held positions, seek out and eliminate hostiles, or fight for your own life. In any circumstance you will need to outfit yourself with weapons and equipment, plan your actions with your team and then execute to achieve the objective. The world of Obsidian Edge is extremely unforgiving. Be ready to test your nerves and wit against opponents who are just as hyped to eliminate you as you are to eliminate them. As your skills sharpen, so do theirs. As your adrenalin rushes, so does theirs. As your teammate rush in, so does theirs. As you put them in your crosshairs, so do they. Who pulls the trigger first?
Overview
Two of the the three original FarCry games (Assault/FFA) play the same as before with the exception that incorporated in the game play are the new features of the mod. When playing the mod, the “original” FarCry maps are also available for play. If you have played these games previously, you will already be familiar with the game interface, but prepare yourself for the next step. If you are new to this type of game play, get ready for the edge-of-your-seat action. However, review the manual as many changes and additions have been made. There are new weapons, new kit load outs, new soldier classes and much more.
The Obsidian Edge Mod includes these features:

Integrated Server Control Screen
All commands can be routed to either the local machine (non-dedicated server) or to remote (dedicated) server via RCON.
On April 11th 2006, Crytek announced that the Obsidian Edge 2 mod would be one of two mods chosen for Crysis which will work with a pre-SDK and receive support from Crytek (see link: Crymod.com ).
We are very excited about this, and wanted the community to know that we feel that this special relationship will provide us, the Polishing Weevils mod team, the leverage we need to provide an outstanding total conversion mod that will vastly improve the already outstanding playability that we delivered in Obsidian Edge 1.

No, there were limitations with the base engine code of CryEngine1 (FarCry) that gave the community fits trying to get coop to work. By the time some folks got part of it sorted, we had already started working on OE2 for CryEngine2 (Crysis). So look for it in OE2, as it is a primary feature we have slated, and since we are working closely with Crytek, we know we will be able to deliver it this time.
Is there a coop in this?
