Obsidian Conflict is a cooperative multiplayer modification set in the Half-Life 2 universe. It features a large amount of new gameplay features on all-new maps specially designed for the mod with focus on cooperative gameplay, as well as over hundred user-made maps following the same formula. In addition to that, You're able to play through vanilla Half-Life 2 all the way up to Episode 2, as well as experimental support for cooperative Half-Life: Source play.

We are nearing the release of Beta 1. Its all down to finishing the content and smashing current bugs. We are hoping to release within the coming weeks so stay tuned. :D Also, we would like to show off some ingame screenshots and the customizable hud and flashlight. Some Screenshots of Deadland, a map being released with Beta 1. Also featured is the fully functional Uzi weapon which allows single and dual depending on the how many you have picked up.

Dual Uzi's Zombie on fire!

Also we would like to show off the Obsidian Customizable Hud and Flashlight. Settings accessible in the new Mod Options panel.

Customizable Hud Customizable Flashlight

Other players will see the color of your flashlight ingame so you can show off your true colors. We would also like to announce that we have incorporated the Half-Life 2 Episode 1 Zombine into the mod. The AI was written to be as close as possible to the original.

For more screenshots please visit our Forums at www.obsidianconflict.com Also, check out the new site design while your at it. :D

actually i dont think valve have a problem with it. That strider mod contacted them asking permission to use mini-strider, and they said Not until episode 2. No doubt the reason is because it is not officially featured properly yet.

...but the zombine was all present and correct in ep1 so i doubt valve will have any problem with them using it.

If what you said was true we couldnt use any Counter-Strike Source Material in mods. Or DODS.

CS:S is a bit of a gray area because it comes bundled with hl2 but DOD:S falls under the same rules as episode 1.

either way I would advise getting expressed permission to use the zombie or any other media from valve that didn't come with hl2, from Valve.

CSS now comes in a seperate package. It was bundled with the original HL2 back in November 2004.
It is considered a seperate game.
There are a number of HL2 bundles with DODS in it and now Episode 1, its the same thing.
