The "New Horizons" mod for the 2003 Pirates of the Caribbean game by Akella is a continuation of the famous Build mod series. Developed as Pirates of the Caribbean Build 14, "New Horizons" continues where Build 13 left off, adding more new content than ever before.

One note however, in the movie, when the Dutchman is uncursed and glorified, there is no skeleton figure head. That, along with most of the "teeth" on the bow's "jaws" fall off as it rises out of the water. We need to get a modeler to fix the bow and make it movie accurate. Should be easy. All they would need to do is remove things. I can provide a screenshot of the uncursed bow from the movie if it is needed.

Yeah, there's only so much that can be done through texturing. I did try to remove those details, but the front mast also started to disappear, which is no good. The only other downside is that the deck is mapped to the same part of the texture as the main hull planking.
But, those aside, she does look much better, if I do say so myself. ;)

So we'll have to get a modeler to do it some day. Maybe I can do it when I finally figure out Maya. :P

Would it be possible to paint out that skeleton figurehead on the uncursed Flying Dutchman by using an alpha map texture? Or would that paint out other parts of the ship also?
I don't think removing stuff from a model is quite as easy as adding stuff is. :(

We have modellers working on both of those at the moment... hopefully they'll have some screenshots to display here once the work is near completion!

Description

When Davy Jones met his fate, his ship was restored to her former glory, freed of the many layers of seaweed and creatures which covered the aged hull. The final result was something actually quite beautiful in its own right- and here's our latest attempt to realise that ship!
