This is a total conversion of Sins of a Solar Empire. five new playble races will be introduced each with differing play styles and apearances. The focus of this mod will be small and large scale fleet stratagy and empire building.
The Columbus is a repurposed Astraios class colony ship. During the initial Colonization of what are now the core worlds the massive 15km long, Astraios class ships would house the thousands of colonists making their way to their new home. Even before they were converted to what would be the T.E.Fs first capital ships they were already heavily armoured in order to better protect the colonists from the dangers of space. The Astraios class Colony ship is therefore the oldest ship class ever produced with the first Mark 1 Astraios leaving Earth almost 150 years before the Columbus was constructed. Then Around the beggining of the 25th century Ineserctionist and pirate activity reached critical levels and the longbows were no longer capable of holding off these ever increasingly aggresive attacks, so rather then commision a new ship high command insted decided to replace the extra life support systems on The Astraios class ships with heavy missle pods. The SS Columbus is one of the more recent additions to the fleet and is currently on deployment in the Caeruleus sector on a classified mission...
