Welcome to Mundus Igne et Gladio, the World of Fire and Sword. This is a fan-made submod of the 16th Century Mod. While this mod seeks to improve quality of the translation, balance to in-game items, and expand upon factions within the game, credit should be given to the original Century War Team (consisting of Mskimizd, Ellis, and Yifeng), Khorps who created an improved translation for settlement and troop names, Mariusz Kozil whose art (with mosaic modification) you can see on the loading screen, the team behind the Battle of Grunwald mod, and creators of packs and mods from which 16th Century Mod borrows its assets. I hope you'll enjoy this sub-mod as much as I enjoyed the 16th Century Mod, and if in turn you too will find a way to improve upon it, I would love to see your vision.

Not bad, but i think they should use Highland armor instead of the Leather armor from Warband Vanilla, there where some in the "Age of Sword and Sorcery" mod, try to chek them out

We've changed up the armor choices for Lowlanders a bit to use exclusively the shorter jacks-of-plate (in this picture although they didn't showed up they were in rotation as one of the possible armor choices for those troops). I've started to work recently with a hobbyist historian who tends to be a bit more strict towards accuracy of equipment choices than I do, since I primarily look upon them from perspective of game design and troop balancing, so the way I tend to do it is I put out these screenshots when I'm done with initial big design changes to a troop tree, then check feedback from them and comments like yours, and if I agree with them then I apply the changes. So any troop trees you see on here, even revised versions, will probably be a bit different still when the actual releases are uploaded (There'll be one up definitely this Sunday)

Also as a general note about pulling in assets from other mods, I want to finish redesigning all of the troop trees using the assets we have in the game right now first before we do anything like that, although I'm not above it, since adding the extra troops in will already make the mod bigger, which in turn makes me worried about its stability in the future (especially since I'm not the most experienced in programming). So right now the plan is to expand the troop trees using the existing assets, see how stable the mod is then, and maybe add in more assets to polish the troop trees out even further if it's still stable enough.

I love the trees you are making but some come off as off-center, this one if you raised it up a little and separated the two units that are one on top of the other it would be perfect

Yeah I know, the troop tree screen isn't very happy with how many tiers we have in our troop trees but to change that I would have to fiddle with files I believe, unless there was something in settings that I was missing, and I would rather just have a lesser quality troop tree screenshots that still give a pretty good idea of what that looks like and then use that energy to keep working on more essential parts of the mod.

Description

What I learned in my research on Scottish armies was that they favored more archaic looking armor like long "jacks" (coats) of leather reinforced with metal plates. I tried to simulate that look here as well with suits of banded armor and studded leather. In general I feel like their armor is weaker than that of other European nations, a reflection of their lack of resources, but they still make a formidable opponent, especially their pikemen who wield longest pikes in the game (not entirely historically accurate but I felt they needed a bit of a boost)
