Welcome to Mundus Igne et Gladio, the World of Fire and Sword. This is a fan-made submod of the 16th Century Mod. While this mod seeks to improve quality of the translation, balance to in-game items, and expand upon factions within the game, credit should be given to the original Century War Team (consisting of Mskimizd, Ellis, and Yifeng), Khorps who created an improved translation for settlement and troop names, Mariusz Kozil whose art (with mosaic modification) you can see on the loading screen, the team behind the Battle of Grunwald mod, and creators of packs and mods from which 16th Century Mod borrows its assets. I hope you'll enjoy this sub-mod as much as I enjoyed the 16th Century Mod, and if in turn you too will find a way to improve upon it, I would love to see your vision.

Hey there everyone,

I just wanted to post a quick update on the development of this mod, as I know that I disappeared without much sign of life. This mod is really more of a hobby for me than anything else, so while I was planning on developing it further over last summer, I was given an opportunity to start working as a paid psychology researcher. I took this opportunity and it went really well (last week I got to present the results of my research on the bilingual advantages in math learning among children ages 7 to 11 at a conference) which is pretty big for me as I will be starting my PhD program over the next year so getting my name out there as soon as I can is really good. The downside is, as I start to advance in my career and take up more responsibilities as a psychologist, I will have less time to work on MIeG.

So what this means for the mod? Well let me start by saying it's not dead. I still love Mount & Blade, I still go back to playing Warband from time to time and all the different mods I enjoy including MIeG, and yes I still develop it. From time to time I go back to revisit one of the troop trees I published or rebalance and expand on the original one, sometimes I even try to fix as many bugs as I can. That said though, you will have to be patient with updates as I really don't know how often I can put them out and I won't be given any estimates for the upcoming ones. They'll just happen when they'll happen.

I hope that everyone is doing well, this mod is a good experience for you, and again if you would want to work off of the work I already did to make your own submod or mod based off of MIeG, feel free to do so! It's why I post as much of the resources I use as I can.

Can you please add some new blunt/piercing weapons against plate armours like war hammer, maces and picks ? Also increase their damage against heavy armours, would be perfect to make a realistic gameplay as a knight, this mod has a lot of great armours

Another advantage of add weapons like that is to replace the old hammers and picks that Germans soldiers from HRE is actually using making these soldiers even stronger

Hello quick question,do you need the 16th century mod downloaded to activate this submod, or If I downloaded this submod I can play the game directly without the 16th century mod.

You just need this submod, it's a standalone. I really only call it a submod because it's so heavily based on the original code and content compiled by the 16th century mod team (I changed the translation, balancing of items, and expanded troop trees) that it doesn't feel right to call this a fully separate mod.

Hello, I've noticed that there are several mods very similar to this one in the mod section, so, I wanna know the reason why of this or, if there are different modders working in the same mod?

I'm the only developer working on this particular mod and I'm not affiliated with the 16th century mod MIEG is based on. In my particular case I started working on this mod because I really enjoyed the 16th century mod but I felt like I could make their translation better, expand the troop trees, and improve balancing of items and troops. If I had to guess I believe other modders start projects for similar reasons which is why you can see a selection of mods basically on the same subject or setting but trying to make it better than the other person. I don't super mind it because it gives us a lot of options to work it.

Hey Sofiane, could you elaborate more on the problems you came across for the promotion system and what that refers to exactly?

Once u reach the required promotion exp
Nothing happens and it just stays at N/A
Plus if ur commander lose u lose all progress made in the army nd u have to enlist all over again

I'm getting this problem as well. There is no date of next promotion that appears in the commander's report when freelancing.
