Welcome to Mundus Igne et Gladio, the World of Fire and Sword. This is a fan-made submod of the 16th Century Mod. While this mod seeks to improve quality of the translation, balance to in-game items, and expand upon factions within the game, credit should be given to the original Century War Team (consisting of Mskimizd, Ellis, and Yifeng), Khorps who created an improved translation for settlement and troop names, Mariusz Kozil whose art (with mosaic modification) you can see on the loading screen, the team behind the Battle of Grunwald mod, and creators of packs and mods from which 16th Century Mod borrows its assets. I hope you'll enjoy this sub-mod as much as I enjoyed the 16th Century Mod, and if in turn you too will find a way to improve upon it, I would love to see your vision.

Description

Here's the latest troop tree to be revised- the Kingdom of England. Its higher unit is the English Longbow Sniper, its lowest end-tier unit is the English Musketeer in order to show the value England was placing at the time in longbows over crossbows and firearms, its mid-tier units include the English Dragoon, the English Knight clad in heavy gothic armor, English Vanguard with a steel buckler, spear, and a heavy sword, and the English Billman their parallel to pike and polearm units of other nations. During my research into this faction I've gained further insight especially into what kind of helmets were utilized by European nations at the time, and how only prevalent shields at the time were either steel round bucklers, specialized heater shields used in jousting, or heavy pavise shields mostly utilized by crossbowman units. I also realized that many units in the revised troop trees utilize kite or large round shields. I may revise the existing troop trees in the upcoming days then in order to reflect more accurate shield use, as well as provide more closed helmet options to higher tier heavy infantry units.
