I havn't installed the current version yet, but I am very impressed with all of your work on Morrowind Rebirth! Just letting you know I am still following your updated and am interested in discussing with other cult followers

Cool, let me know when you've tried it. Or if you have any suggestions based on the info around it :)

Jul 11 2012 Anchor

I'm going to end up re-installing Morrowind just so I can play this mod again :)

Jul 11 2012 Anchor

its a good idea! Totally worth it.
I've had the problem where two video cards are not accepted by the old engine, so it runs pretty slow.
I just built a new computer and will try installing Vanilla, then the 2 Gigs of mods and textures. Sooner or later someone is going to release the whole game with included modifications as one stinking file.
Rebirth is close, but we still have to download and install different mods to get the full modern experience.

Ya two video cards ain't really working with Morrowind since it's such an old game. However it should run pretty smoothly if u have a new decent computer!

I'm aware of the issue that people will have to download loads and loads of texture packs, but still it's the best way to do it, for now. Some time in the near future I will start collecting stuff for a texture pack that I'll include in the download. However I've already compiled a mesh pack which fixes a lot of issues in the vanilla game. I suggest that people grab it: Moddb.com

Jul 12 2012 Anchor

I've used the mesh pack, and its awesome! really makes some of the assets look GREAT!
If you are eventually going to package an entire collection of (more...) Morrwind Mods and feature them as a single download! I'm all in!
This is what I have always wanted.
Right now I have a folder on my server with at least 2 gigs of zip files and folders with all kinds of mods for Morrowind.
If I install Vanilla, then I have to unzip and copy/paste all of these files to restore the beautiful Morrowind I want.

Jul 12 2012 Anchor

Yes the mesh pack does wonders, really.

I don't really think that I will bundle a lot of mods togheter, only texture packs. There's a reason behind this really. I'd like to keep the world additions in "Morrowind Rebirth", the mesh fixes in the "Mesh Pack" and the texture stuff in "Texture Pack". Clean and simple, but still "not required", for those who don't want to use it.

Jul 13 2012 Anchor

Yeah I understand, kinda sucks, but maybe there is a way to do an installer with all the mods and we can check them on/off during the install...
Just dreaming here...

Jul 13 2012 Anchor

Actually you can do just that in the Morrowind Sound & Graphics Overhaul, but it only handles graphics. Tbh I think that the retextures (or mods if u like) I have linked on the frontpage are more lore-friendly and are a bit more gritty looking, just like the vanilla game.

Jul 16 2012 Anchor

I would agree, but I never played Morrowind Vanilla back when it was released... I had already played Oblivion first and then stumbled on Morrowind.
Then I found there was a whole community of modded textures, meshes, etc... I tried out at least 50 different modifications and saved my favorite ones.
Its ironic, because no one ever has the exact same Morrowind on their computer.

Jul 16 2012 Anchor

That's no exactly true since the MGSO is one of the most popular mods right now handling textures/meshes/sounds. I think like 50 % of those still playing MW uses that. But the rest are probably using a diffrent set of textures/meshes just like you say. My list are just a recommendation. It's also probably the best way to get the most "high res" textures/meshes out there.

Jul 17 2012 Anchor

yeah, thats another thing I need to try on my new computer. I originally tried it on my computer with 2 video cards, and you know the result...

i realy love this mod cant play without it. but i have a problem. in a
dwemer ruin when going to another interior i got this error:

Creature "MR_Dwarven_Repair_Bot00000000" has no animation groups.

Creature "MR_Dwarven_Repair_Bot00000001" has no animation groups.

Morrowind will crash!

Actor Animation problem with "MR_Dwarven_Repair_Bot00000000".

Jul 21 2012 Anchor

sorry for the inpatients. but is it possible that i delete the repairbot out of my game? As temporary solution then. If so
how do i do that? Im not realy familliar with those things.
it could 'fix' it or it screws everything . i dont know, thats why i ask.

Jul 21 2012 Anchor

Yepp you can.. open the Construction set. Select the "creatures" tab in the object window. Search for MR_Dwemer_Repair_Bot. Select it and press delete, then save. Done!

Ok. Thanks for the help.

Damn im not good at this. i open it in the constuction set. i delete the repairbot. but when i try to save things go wrong. When opened as active file i get: "unable to complete operation due failure renaming temp file".

and if opened as plugin i get: " file morrowind rebirth 1.8esp. is a masterfile or is in use.
one time i got the i got the message: this file already exsists do you want to overwrith. after that the CK crached.

then i tried to save it with another name. but that file is alot smaller.

im realy sorry to bother you with this but. what could be the problem? or perhaps im just an idiot.

Not sure where to put this, I didn't see any FAQ link. Does this mod work with Wine in Linux? It looks massive enough that I wanted to check before downloading it.

I have no idea really as I've never used Linux or even seen it live. I'm sorry but you'll have to try it yourself to find out. Wish I would be of more help!
