While on the surface, people getting paid for hard work sounds like a good idea, my only concern is consumer quality control which can not be guaranteed, even with a 24 hour refund period. It's too easy to flood the market with poor products. And I'm not just talking about abuse. Even hard work, does not constitute good work. Most mods would qualify as educational exploration. Should people be asked to buy such a mod? Also As soon as you add money into the equation you have to also add technical support. I don't think steam had that fully in place.

Begun, the mod wars has. This is how it works, other companies will try to make the attempt to do it right after seeing Steam fail hard. Innovation is what keeps a business afloat. I learned that from the men who built America show on Netflix. It'll be back, they gotta make money somehow.
