Mirage is a third person action RPG that puts the player into the shoes of two very different characters on opposing sides of a violent conflict. Made for the pc, and utilizing the Source engine, made famous by games like Half Life 2 and Portal, Mirage takes the fast paced action of hack and slash RPG’s, and combines it with a “Final Fantasy” style of storytelling. Utilising the various tools in the Source engines software development kit, Mirage will be a heavily customised modification of Half Life 2: Episode 2.

Description

Tikhon is a rifleman assigned to Redd for protection. It is common army policy to assign each rifleman several soldiers for point defence, since rifles are heavy and slow to fire.

For Tikhon though, things are different. After numerous modifications to his high powered rifle, he can loose an increased amount of projectiles per minute and can hold his own against much larger odds.

Tikhon joins Redd in the assault, and the two rely on each other continually throughout the game.*

More to come!

At the moment, Tikhon is modelled and normal mapped. He is in the line behind Lonnard to be rigged and textured.

*Game play note, yes – we are aware of how irritating escort missions are in games, and there will be none of that in Mirage. Tikhon splits up from Redd early on, and often provides covering fire from rooftops, thereby providing support without being a liability the player has to babysit.
