In part one of our three-part gameplay demo, we show you how things have been changed and enhanced in the Zone.
Our first look at the gameplay in M.I.N.E. revolves around the Agroprom Research Institute, and the elimination of threats in the surrounding hills and country.
Everything from monster hunting, to eliminating bandits, to stocking up and catching a little R&R by the radio is shown.
To highlight special features, we've added captions to the video to help explain things along the way.
Please remember that this is footage of an in-development mod, and does not necessarily reflect the finished product.
Going along through this part:
-Dogs should go down with one or 2 bullets depending on their placement with just about any bullet type, but they could have a painful, bloodloss, radioactive bite as their strength.
-Bloodsucker fight was believable
-Thought bullets would have more hurt on player and npcs visually (blur, heart thumping sound, knockback or fall effect, along with a better graphic identifier of where the attack came from) with a fairly sized health loss on the health bar. Most vests have a low bullet rating depending on type before vest is useless...that would also keep people from amassing huge sums of wealth.
***Assuming the artifacts helped in the bandit battle, if so, then I guess it could be kept as is.
-Was like "whoa" when a song started during bandit battle, but I'm assuming that was for video entertainment and not in-game...unless he's using an mp3 player in battle? O_O
-Was hoping to see trading with random stalkers, maybe next videos.
-Yay for monster hunting & food???

I always do that to everyone else's videos. That's (secretly) another reason I try to keep my videos as high-def as I can, so you guys can see the inventory.
2 Things, the dragunov skin is just awfull (No offense to whoever created it) and I REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEALLY hope that the battle music was added just for the video.
Do you have a suggested replacement for the Dragunov skin? I kinda liked the sheek black look. Really gave it the polymer look I was hoping to get.
I know what you mean, but the texture itself is very low res, try this one: Gamebanana.com It's got a wooden handgrip, but still, I think it looks fairly good.

The one available MP3 player in-game I have seen crashed every time I tried to use it, no matter what files I tried to load. Some of us just have no luck, huh?
I think the SKS needs to be reloaded by stripper clips. That reload was agonising
Totally agree about the reload. However, it is MEANT to be agonizing. You're getting a sniper-rifle-class weapon early in the game, and it's relatively cheap (being abundantly available), making it a weapon you don't want to overpower by making it too user friendly.
It's mainly designed in this mod to be a hunter's weapon, offering high per-shot kill power using fairly common 7.62x39mm ammo. This is offset by the looong reload time (further exacerbated by my adding +5 rounds with the upgrade), and the inability to scope it.
You can, however, silence it.
Think of it like an introductory sniper, or a training sniper rifle.
Probably to the chagrins of some of you, the "battle music" you're hearing is currently in-game. It's one of the tracks I cut up when I got bored with the usual music.
The idea HAS crossed my mind to do another piece from the STALKER: CoP game, but I haven't gotten to that yet.
Further, this WAS previously demoed in the original assault on the lab in Yantar video and I didn't hear much complaining then. :)
All-in-all, this may or may not be cut from the final release. If I do cut it, I'd like to replace it with something worthwhile, and if it stays, those of you who don't like it will have the option of removing it - I'll be sure to leave you the directions on how you can do that.

you really really really need to rework those acog scopes, differ them a bit, make some wider etc and differ the sniper scopes (wider on screen and a better sighting (thin lines etc))
Against what some other people are saying - PLEASE keep that battle music in, or at least make it an option. It's a little repetitive, but otherwise I love it. Do you have an MP3 link? :D
Anyway, so far I love what I'm seeing. The inventory is expanded but not cluttered, bullets seem to do a realistic amount of damage with the exception of that Russian pistol I'm seeing. (GSh-18 I think?) It really seems useless with the level of damage it's doing. Then again, I'm guessing it's going to be a fairly basic pistol, along the lines of the Makarov PM and the Fort-12. :P
I could always leave it in as an Option pack.

Of sorts. It's the same image used in the S.M.R.T.E.R. zone mod by smrtphoneusr; used by kind permission.
It has a different effect in this game, however.
All of the new bar items (drink, food, etc.) all have been added to the health/radiation/stamina regen code, too - so they restore or heal you over time.
The SKS sound.... I really hope it gets better on release : P
Writing this as I see things.
-While the animations could stand to be better, I actually like the single round reload. This makes it believable, in the sense that you just take the rounds from a satchel, and load them. After all, you get your ammo from AK mags, finding them just lying around, and from the odd ammo box. You aren't going to have a bunch of strip clips. It also allows tactical loads.
-Cool, a Glock. I sure hope it either has a full-auto version, is full-auto, or can be modded for full-auto fire...
-I like the Dragunov skin. I like the sleek black look. I don't mind it's resolution but hey, I'm easy to please.
-I like those iron sights. There's better, yeah; but there is also worse.
-Hey, you're a pretty good shot. Well, when you aim...
-(Thought) I hope you get better sounds...The bolt pull stands to be better, and the bullet load sounds should be reminiscent of most game's bolt-action sniper rifle bullet load sounds, and less reminiscent of a ****** shotgun loading sound.
-The firing sound seems to have what sounds like a faded bolt-pull, or action-pump at the end, besides sounding generally ****. But hey, placeholder, right?
-Huh, the Glock looks pretty good. Somewhat effective, too.
-Sweet! It's either full-auto, or it has a high fire cap, so my itchy trigger fingers can just make it so!
-Wow. That M16 kicks arse. Good job I always go with NATO weapons from my Freedom comrades!
-I actually like that song. Just sayin'.
-Nice scope. Maybe needs a more fitting overlay, though.
-Still love that song.
-And it conveniently ends perfectly when combat ends.
-Wow. That's a large inventory that trader has.
-Oh. My. Gosh. That's a USAS-12. If I can't have that sucker with drum mags, I'll be sad. But, arbitrarily extended box mags is still kick arse.
-Wow. A sniper rifle that can actually hit what you see in the crosshairs. Who'd have thunk it?
One comment, while I am packing and moving... is that while the USAS-12 does NOT have a drum mag... the aim-point -enabled, compact, Molot Vepr-12 does.
It's a capital pain to manage in full-auto... but if you ABSOLUTELY have to spray down the entire room with shotgun ammo... then you now have a weapon for that.
I will try to address you guys more thoroughly after the move - that way, we can kind of get a group opinion going on the direction of the mod, and what we can do to improve it.

Okay, let's start.
SKS. I understand - balance... But this is not the right way to balace a weapon. Look at this - Youtube.com - now this is great, and I know that you can do something like that. And what about balance - SKS can hold only 10 cartridges, and you can make a high recoil.

Then. In my opinion, Colt M16 should be replaced with Colt M16A4. It is a lot more beautiful, and it still has 3-burst fire mode only, so it would be different weapon then Z-M Weapons LR 300. Armoury-online.ru

I hope they listen to you, you have some great ideas that can make this mod even more awesome than it already is! I would change the gloves texture too, I like more the fingerless ones
