Might and Magic VIII: Echo of Destruction is an ambitious project aiming to create a huge piece of previously untold Jadame history before the Collapse. In general, it is supposed to serve as a sequel to the moment of Escaton the Destroyer's defeat and describes the consequences of the destruction of Escaton's Crystal.

The world of the so-called MM8,5 includes both old locations of Jadame and entirely new ones, for example, the cold land of Vori the Snow Elves, the Island of Snakes, The Lost City and several others.

As it turned out, the Escaton's Crystal was not entirely destroyed by the forces of Elemental Lords. The foul monument, serving as a door to the Plane Between Planes was split into five pieces, which were scattered through Jadame and started spreading chaos and death around.

The shards of Escaton's Crystal opened the gates to the previously unknown dimension called The Asylum, full of strange and bizarre phenomena, creatures and laws of existence.

Apart from that, new order started to appear on the continent of Jadame. The Necromancers Guild was victorious in a bloody war with the Church of the Sun, and the Dragons of Garrote Gorge were defeated in a fight against the most dangerous predator - the human.

With the disappearance of the Elemental Gates the landscape of Jadame tends to change, and new trade routes emerge...

Might and Magic VIII: Echo of Destruction plot is inspired mainly on the fan castle concepts for Heroes of Might and Magic III: Horn of the Abyss, and contains many cross-links with it, which can be noticed easily by attentive HotA players.

Might and Magic VIII: Echo of Destruction, also known simply as Might and Magic 8,5 has started
its world campaign. We proclaim ourselves an unofficial sequel and spiritual successor to Might and
Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer; in order to be differentiated from the official but infamous
Might and Magic IX: Writ of Fate game.

Currently the project is in active development. The progress rate is not as fast as desired, for the huge amount of work sometimes overwhelms us, but we cannot afford ourselves to create an underqualified product, and we hope you understand. :)

Anyways, one of the main reasons for us to gain your attention is currently our need in new staff. The jobs we require are:

1. - Photoshop Artists (Texture making)
2. - 3D Modellers (New dungeons)
3. - 3D Modellers (New objects in low-poly)

I think this project will go the way of the new daggerfall mod. Its been a couple of years....There are good people working on this project but with the economy the way it it...the workers need to be paid then they will really complete the project. I understand. If I get extra money, I will contribute. Hang in there and be blessed. We all need games to escape the crap of thiw world's problems. Just have fun while you work on this project or it wont work. Don't give up.

The project team currently consists of 4 enthusiasts who have their own real life problems and other modding projects as well. The work goes on, but slower than we would want it to.

Still, there are a lot of other noteworthy modifications to try while we are busy with this one.

Well, generally we need artists more than anything else. Donations cannot be taken because it's a hard moment how to share the money amongst the team, and anyway, time is the biggest treasure.
