you stole the absofuckinglutely words out of my mouth!
Perfect music choice.
This is so amazing...I think we're finally gonna have a GOOD LOTR game!
I don't want to be the naysayer or just a straight up jerk, because I'm not trying to be lol. But I was kinda hoping that we'd see more Lord of the Rings specific architecture, like we see in the movies. I felt like I wouldn't have known this wasn't oblivion if I just saw this video anywhere. I hope that in the skyrim version we see more unique architecture.
You realize that the architecture in Bree in the films is nearly spot on with this architecture in the video, right?
I don't think the modders have to stick to Ralphs or Peters vision of LOTR, after all they had to come up with there own ideas of how to present the LOTR universe. I am more intrested in the modders giving us a new spin on LOTR than copying someone elses works.
We have our own spin even on movie designed stuff, so don't worry about that. Have you seen our Minas Tirith in v0.2.6? The first level wall is actually black like in the books.
cool, NAU! do you have any screens to spare? :)
The thing is that peter's LOTR isn't peter's LOTR. It's LOTR as it's always been. The art directors on the films were illustrators for the Tolkien universe since the beginning. Hell, even Ralph's interpretation falls in line with their continuity.
Besides, remember that horrible MMORPG that turned LOTR into the typical JRPG look? LOTR has a pretty specific style to it now.
I call bull on that. Peter's design is not ultimately authoritative. He took plenty of liberties in many areas. We will use what fits closely enough with Tolkien's vision. The rest we will replace with things that fit. We will of course harmonize these various parts. There are more artists than you obviously realize that portray Middle Earth.
Oh yes, cause Gondorian soldiers had plate armour... And the outer wall of Minas Tirith is not black at all. And Elven soldiers look like Samurai...
Peter Jackson's representation is hardly accurate.
What about these textures? I was really hoping to see them in Bree
