After the climatic end to Matto3, Jack Carver is back and out for revenge against the man who shot him.
Matto4, the next mod in the series by the Mattomedia team, picks up where Matto3 left off in an all new action adventure. Taking full advantage of the powerful Cryengine, Matto4 includes:
- A feel good, fast-paced and gripping storyline.
- New characters brought to life with fresh voice acting and custom animations.
- New weapons: Walther P99, Benelli M3, Steyr Aug, H+K mp7's and a few extra surprises.
- Fun game play ideas such as the shootable fire extinguishers which blind AI and launching gasbottles like rockets!
- Detailed and atmospheric level design which takes you from swamps to high tech labs, sunny beaches to thunder storms, underground sewers and old mines.
- Typical Matto humor in the form of hidden content, cheesy dialog and gimmicks.
Mattos world deviates from FarCry's in that Jack Carver is an agent for the CIA working on location, undercover. With some help from his friends he must foil the bad guys plot, blow up some stuff and get the girl, all in a days work.

To familiarize yourself with the story download and play Matto3 , although this is not necessary to enjoy matto4.

NOTE - Although Matto3 is the third creation from Mattomedia, it is the first game in the story, matto4 is the sequel. Matto1+2 are earlier projects and show the progression of Matto's work since he began mapping for Farcry. Be sure to check these fun maps out too!

After some time of bugfixing, it's finally done. Matto4 patch 1.1 is now available. We didn't fix much, although there were a lot of people who had problems. Most of those bugs I couldn't recreate, were caused by farcry or just by the users.
Changelog Matto4 ver1.1:
-fixed: Steyr/Binocular zoom problem
-fixed: Camp loadscreen renamed
-fixed: Typos corrected
-fixed: Dying at the beginning of level two
-fixed: Bad performance due to offsetmapping on terrain on older graphics cards
-fixed: Tweaked some voice-files
-fixed: Clipping error on *unknown-gun* on lowspec systems fixed
-fixed: Added collision walls to prevent players taking bad routes
-added: Steyr secondary firemode (singleshot)
-included: editor-cryfiles
You will see there are also new features. The singleshot of the Steyr adds more gameplay and fun to the MOD. And for those who wanted to take a look at the maps in the editor, this time the cryfiles are included.

Excellent mod. Matto 4 contains some of the best work I've ever seen. Very nicely done maps, custom weapons, and cutscenes that look like they were done by professionals.
If you have Far Cry, this mod is a must-play.

Very Good job, i love it, just need a text traduction or language patch for french if exist, i understand a little bit but it's hard to ear and read all english textes in the game ^^.

This mod is more like a full expansion. Hard to criticise anything. One of the best mods for one of the best games ever.

The best mod I've ever played, it's old now... but anyway, it's still the most entertaining and challenging one I can remember - and believe me, I've played a LOT of mods for source etc. ... not one of them are as good as matto!

You stupid or what? This mod was made in 2007. Now we have MOTY 2010 and if im right we vote on mods that were released in 2010. Learn to read or just read them f**king release dates!
I just finished it, and it was great.
I found some of the boss battle a bit boring (like the one in the blue room when you are waiting for the emergency hatch to open), but the last one, with the doors to lock in all possible manners was quite fun.
Overall, great professional job.
