The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

I've mentioned this in the Bug Report thread but I feel that this is something that needs more attention since I've read some posts about other people experiencing it too. To simply put it, the sun is nowhere to be seen, usually anyway. I'm running LURK with the Optimized config and at static lighting. In my playthrough, I've noticed some things about this glitch: Now you see it: Now you don't: Also, I noticed some out of place white cloud in the sky always showing up at late hours, visible even at a pitch black night. Perhaps this has something to do with the glitch? Either way, it's another problem that probably needs attention: Yet another also, is it just me, or does the weather in this mod undergo the exact same cycle and pattern everyday? |

Yes I have the same problem, I just reloaded my savefile where the sun where supposed to be. And poof gone. The weather/sky system is rather dull and disappointing. Please make it more vibrant and alive (no repeating) Edit: I've also noticed how the sky keep flickering sometimes. Edited by: Eccer |

Ah yes, I do get flickering skies occasionally too. I would appreciate it if you post what settings you are running this mod at (dynamic or static lighting and optimized or extreme config) so it might help the mod team fix this problem one of these days. |

Dynamic and static lighting? Is that an option? I'm running it at extreme, with MAX SHADERS 0.98 version. (Can't post link yet, until 7 days has passed lol) Google it There's a guy who also has solved the extreme saturation by the sun, no more pinkish textures. (Can't post link) Google it But man =/ The gameplay is just to awesome, and I can't just delete this mod right away. Can't you like, import the weather system from the 2009 mod? It would make everything perfect. Edited by: Eccer |

Hmm, I've spotted some mild flicker which seems separate from the problem I had regarding the sky turning into spamy show of colored lights every night around dusk. Dropping the FPS to a crawl. Which is fixable since its a graphic card issue thats from insufficient memory for the skybox texture thats around 32mb*. Options are to: get a better card or change the texture used by either altering the texture** or swap it with another through editing*** and or renaming or replacing the file with another. For myself, in this case, I changed the "sky_texture" to something that is much smaller in texture size. *which is a lot when your stuck with 128 of on board video, **"Gamedata\textures\sky\Clear", ***"Gamedata\config\Weathers\Cycles" These fixes can be applied to any mod in similar ways as it is not a LURK specific problem but rather a texture memory issue. I posted this on here knowing someone will find and pass it on. It may have nothing to do with your problem. I need to find a low res texture pack until I get a new card. I've always cared more about good gameplay and fluid animation. Graphical details don't really matter to me as long as the general look of the game appeal to my eyes, it doesn't have to be high-end or photo-realistic. Though those are always welcomed bonuses if they come without sacrifice. |
