The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Its unbearable frustrating for me that everywhere I go the ONLY god damn suits I find are Starter Leather jackets!I have been in cordon, garbage, bar and wild zone next to it already, and am still wearing a leather jacket, the only reason why I come so far is because I have been lucky to find enough artifacts, downside is I glow in the dark, but I have enough vodka and bandages to keep up. but seriously, is it really necessary to buy suits? waste time and patience to farm enough money for the bit of protection? even the Stashes who once contained good rare suits are filled with god damned leather jackets!I like this mod, I really love it, but this really cuts my lust to wander and search the zone, why bother when the reward is useless anyway?the second thing that bothers me are the ridiculously dark nights, in which the NPC's seem to turn into AK wielding owls, while I'm completely blind except the small circle of my beloved flashlight. if I turn it off I stare at a black screen. I try to use the sleeping bag, but sometimes it just won't work, and after 9 hours of sleep its still night, while my watch tells me that its 10 am.and the last thing of this probably useless and insensitive rant, not really a problem, but probably a bug: after being heavil loaden, I went back to the trader, and after selling everything, I still got my stamina drained when normally walking.and for some stupid reason this forum doesn't allow me to split this huge wall of text into 3-4 segments.

If you could get all the gear you need for free what would be the use of economy then?

Leather jackets are found in the game because at first nobody didn't knew how to remove them, so they just changed all the freebie suits to leather jackets. If I understood correctly all the free suits are nonexistent in 1.1.

If you want better protection early on, buy a merc suit, it costs only 36 000 rubles. Just find some artifacts, collect monster parts and loot dead bodies and you have enough dough in no time.

The best way to get cash is talk to skull at the farmstead near the freedom base, attack the base, then after you kill all the freedom guys take their guns and sell them to Barkeep. I did that back before I modded SOC and I got crazy rich. Now I just get bored doing that, so I'm still trying to find new clever ways to make more ca$h.

The economy is shit anyway, to be honest. Everything you do pick up is so valuable that you can make loads of money fairly quickly anyway. Besides, you can get practically any gun you want by picking it up off a stiff, what's so wrong with getting a suit in a stash? I'm fairly certain that's the point of stashes to begin with..

i actually got a problem launching stalker after LURK is installed. it worked well without the mod, but now the first startscreen appears the screen turns black and voila: back at desktop. anybody an idea how to solve this problem?

What version of stalker are you running? I run 1.0005 without any problems. Try patching it to a newer version.

well yes, i actually patched it to version 1.0005 so i hope thats not the problem.

If you are able to get money so quickly why buying a suit is such an issue then?

If you don't get freebie suits at least you have to pay for something, which in my opinion is better than no economy system at all.

Because you can't buy everything. Duh. And since LURK doesn't support freeplay, it's not like you can always go back to the barkeep once you get a 417 to buy more ammo for it. When I finished the game I was wearing a SEVA suit, despite the fact I found numerous exoskeletons and even the SKAT or whatever it's called, the best military armor in the game. The barkeep doesn't sell that armor.

I don't care if you can't pick up suits, but if you're going to do that, make sure you can at least buy the damn things somewhere. The last suit in the hierarchy of "what's the best" that I could buy was the exoskeleton, which is essentially useless to me in the high radiation fields of Chernobyl and Pripyat. And there are several guns, like two out of the three G36 variants, that I didn't find at all - and by the time I found the Bizon submachine gun, it was useless anyway because A) The stats are shit compared to other guns and the armor you're shooting at, and B) None of the Monolith use 9x18 anyway, so you can't get any ammo for it in-theatre.

Hi, I'm new to LURK and so far things have been going quite well. No glitches, no major issues, no crashes. That is until I try to hand in the first mission you give to the barkeep, that one where you give him the military information. Every time I hand it over the game crashes before he can give me the mission to X18 lab. I've tried running the game on 1.0005 and 6 and both of them crash at this point. Is there a LURK patch that I am missing? Help with this would be greatly appreciated.
