The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Well, I've installed the mod on the Ukrainian version of the game. When I launch it, it gives me a black screen and then it just disappears. The russian version doesn't work either. When I launch it, it gives me a black screen and then it just disappears (again). I've tryd removing the localization.ltx to run the game, but that didn't work. I was testing version 1.0006 and version 1.0005. I realy dont want to use the english version of the game. Can someone help me? The game doesn't work at all! HELP, PLEASE! Edited by: Hidraga |

Hi. I used this to make it work: Moddb.com But before you download it, I need to tell you that this way I'm describing here changes subtitles to english, though sounds remained in your game language. Anyway, when you download this, open its folder with russian language and backup your LURK folder named "text" (it should be in "gamedata/config" folder). Then extract the "text" folder and "localization" file from the archive to your LURK "config" folder and it should rewrite LURK default folder. I think you'll also need to put that "localization" file into "text" folder and it will rewrite the old "localization" file. Now open your backuped LURK "text" folder and copy all files from the inside and rewrite the files in your new "text" folder. Then open LURK "localization" file and copy the very last line. Now open the new "localization" file and overwrite the last line with the line from LURK. Also make sure there's 'rus' instead of 'eng' in one line, I think it was the second one. This way worked for me. It might sound difficult, but it's pretty easy. Edited by: Cpt.Steel |

Thanks, but I did it a little bit different then you. I just puted everything in the text folder and localization.ltx in to the config\text folder. If i put in the L.U.R.K. files or edit the localization.ltx file, then it doesn't work again. But now I have another problem. It seems that the dialogs and menu sizes are corrupted. I know how to fix it (I need to put the L.U.R.K. files back and I need to edit localization.ltx), but when I do that, the game does't work again. Is there a way to fix this somehow? But thank you anyway for your help, at least it works! Edited by: Hidraga |

No problem. I solved the problem with missing text by putting LURK files in the text folder and then rewrite the last line in "localization". It worked with my version of the game. I don't know why it doesn't work for you, sorry. Edited by: Cpt.Steel |

I hope the L.U.R.K. team will make a patch for this. But then that means they need to translate some text into russian (or other language). It seems that only the english version will work normaly now. It looks like i need to download the english version. Oh, well... |
