L.U.R.K error message Thread - L.U.R.K. mod for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl

Hi folks!
I've downloaded the Lurk mod an I followed the installation Instruction (puted the gamedata into the stalker directory and made a modified shortcut with -noprefetch). But whenn i want to start the game an error message is comming. I dont know why the game is crashing maybe i should copy the optional files into the directory or into the gamedata? I hope you can help me!

I'm having a similar problem, put the gamedata folder in the directory, added the -noprefetch to the shortcut, i start the game and i get "a crash has been detected by bugtrap".

I'm running vista 64bit, witch is probably part of the problem.

i too run vista 64 bit and there are no problems at all. maybe try compability with xp sp2 on shortcut and see if that helps

Tried it, no luck it's still not working.

Find C:\Users\Public\Documents\STALKER-SHOC\logs\xray_[username].log and show us the contents near the end, usually right after "FATAL ERROR".

I'd first try adding -nointro to the shortcut's command line (same way you added -noprefetch). If that doesn't solve it, you may have to reinstall the game.

It's missing gamedata\textures\ui\ui_nvidia_intro.dds, which is probably within the gamedata.db* files, your game install might have gone awry.

I'd already tried the -nointro and i reinstalled several times. But the thing is if i return Stalker back to it's "vanilla" by removeing the gamedata folder with L.U.R.K it works fine.

Are you certain you changed your fsgame.ltx file properly?

It should read: $game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\
(false changed to true)

Yeah, it was the first thing i did.

I'm unpacking the files to see if I can't send the proper one for you to use.

Out of curiosity, was your game patched to v1.0005 prior to applying the mod?

I believe so, i bought it retail this year and it tells me there are no updates to be found.

Make sure you have the v1.0005 patch installed (US version: Stalker.gamefront.com).

I found the ui_nvidia_intro.dds file in one of the patch gamedata files, if the game doesn't work AFTER you install that patch (probably will have to re-apply the mod for safe measure), I'll upload the missing texture.

Uhh problem with the patch.

I run the .exe and get this:

"Setup has detected version [worldwide] installed.
this update can only be applied to version [United States]."

So yeah that's what i get for living the UK :p

Huh? i have the german version of the game and it works fine, everything downloaded from this site.

Ahha! SUCCESS! it's working now after installing the v1.0005 patch, thanks alot guys.
