The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Alrighty. So I came across this mod while looking at the Top 100 Mods of 2009 on the site, and now I've downloaded it and I'm in the process of installing it.

I've followed the installation questions so far; the games patched to 1.0005, prefetching is disabled in the shortcut properties (I threw in the "-mblur" while I was there), and now I've run into a problem.

I'm having trouble changing the "fsgame.ltx" variable to "true" and saving it.
-It's under the "S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl" folder and I've found it.
-It's an "LTX File" ... Do I open it in Notepad? That's what I did so far.
-If I DO open it in Notepad, when I change "false" to "true" then press "Save" I get this error popping up:

"Cannot create the C:/Program Files/THQ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl/fsgame.ltx file.

Make sure that the patch and file name are correct"

So what do I do to get it to change to "true" and successfully save? I'm running on Vista 32-bit, if that has any relevance.

Tell me if I didn't include any information.
I'm thinking I'm just missing something small to get this to work.

After editing fsgame.ltx save it to your desktop and then drag and drop it into your C:/Program Files/THQ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl -folder. When it askes about overwriting answer yes.
