The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

I have the Steam version of STALKER: SoC, and I assume Steam auto-patches it to the latest version.I downloaded the latest version of the mod and installed it using the mod manager. Picking the LURK (blahblah) option for all installation questions since I didn't look up what any of them meant... Anyways. After installation of the mod (From the .rar file, I should mention.) whenever Try to start the game, my comp'll start loading, and the small rectangular STALKER picture will show up at the center of my screen, go away.... And then that's it. Happens every time.Any idears? |

Did you disable prefetching? (Right click on the game in Steam, properties, then go to launch options and type in "-noprefetch")? |

Just tried, didn't work. Here's what my mods look like if you see a problem there... UPDATE: Well, I deleted those and manually installed the game. Editted fsgame and did the -noprefatch deal. The game starts, has the LURK background at the menu. I went to start a new game. It got to the loading screen, and then I got this error after it loaded.

Same problem here with box game. And it stop after the splash-screen. Error log: Error Reason: User Message: System Error: Am I doing something wrong ? Q6600 Thanks. EDIT: If I only copy the GAMEDATA from the "L.U.R.K. RC 1.05 Full", it doesn't work too and if i rename the gamedata folder and re-modify the fsgame.ltx, the game start. EDIT: Ive tested another MOD (complete 2009) and it doesn't work too. Same problem. What the fu** ?! EDIT: After few search, if I manually delete the "/textures/fx", "/textures/item" and "/textures/ui" folders the game run. I don't know if it can help. EDIT: Ok it works, there was some stupid "thumbs.db" files in those folders, I just deleted them and now its working. Note: Those files ARE NOT in the original .RAR file, I really don't know where they came from... First time I see that. Edited by: bid0u |

Thanks a lot Bid0u, that was of great help. This must be the only way to start L.U.R.K on Multi5 versions of boxed S.T.A.L.K.E.R. so it may be useful to sticky it somewhere. Really really thanks a bunch buddy, i was trying to think i could not play this great mod and there you are with your miracle solution. Awesome. Also, i had a thumbs.db file in my TEXTURE/WPN folder as well and had to erase them all for it to work. Oh, and french dude also, so pardon my french (so to speak) and it may only work with french stalker boxed games. (but i think every multi5 game works the same) Let's LU.R.K. ! |
