The L.U.R.K. team wants to provide the best possible experience from Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl, we don't plan to skew the scope of this game, because I, like many others, fell in love with the game because of the story, the realistic gameplay, and the atmosphere. I plan to preserve and improve on that concept to the best of my abilities, and our team has vowed to do so as well. Which is why we took it upon ourselves to provide that experience. We want to fulfill a niche that's otherwise unfulfilled in the modding community. We want to bring as many features to Stalker without damaging or changing the original theme of the game. While improving upon that concept with features that were dropped off the development cycle from GSC, such as stealth AI, and a strong foundation for balance, as well as dynamic A-Life, and an unprecedented visual presentation that no other Stalker Overhaul can touch.

Guise, I have trouble launching modded soc. My course of action was: install vanilla soc. Patch to 1.005. Unrar gamedata to stalker folder, modify the .ltx file, type -noprefetch, attempt to run, fail - game crashes to Vista, says "xr_3da stopped working". When I remove gamedata from the folder, the game works just fine. WTF do I do? |

Are you using some kind of No-DVD fixed EXE? I don't know about L.U.R.K. but I've had problems with fixed EXE-files while using some other mods. |

Yep. And my copy is starforce protected, so the fixed exe seems to be my only hope. |

Did you install just the L.U.R.K. 1.0552 update, or L.U.R.K. 1.05 full + 1.0552 update? If you forgot the 1.05, then that would be your major problem right there. Try installing some other mods and see if you come up with the same problem. If so, then provide a copy of the last lines of your log file. |

I tried both L.U.R.K. 1.05 with, and without, the update. Arsenal works just fine though. Say, perhaps l.u.r.k. demands some higher-quality graphics card to run? I have X3100, I can run STALKER decently, but only with static lightning (or how do you spell it). |
