Usually lowbudget or nobudget games/mods got lousy voice acting but this was above the average. Very nice! :)

Some of it is great, and some not so great. But, for a mod, this is brilliant work.

Monolith seemed a bit high (both on voice pitch and pot))

But maaaan, complete voice overs! It's so close!
We're on the edges of our chairs now!

Zerknautscher Apr 3 2012, 10:15am says:

Yeah the problem with the monolith lines is, that I can't really record shouts in my apartment without an angry mob of neighbors pitchforking me out of town. And I do not own a studio. That's why it sounds very pretend and strange. :/
I'm sorry you all hate it, and agree it's not worthy of the loyal brainwashed monolith-mob, but maybe someone else could re-record it in a more yell-friendly environment? :D Cheers

I usually get the feeling someone will call the cops every time I record something loud (due to the nature of whats being said, not because it's loud x) ) but I can give it a shot if you want?

I appreciate everyone's feedback, I tried the monolith chant a few ways. The normal "brainwashed" sound as Zerk said, did not sound right within context of the scene.

I have already seen the final cut scene and the way it is voiced now will make more sense to people once you play the game.

That is your opinion and you are entitled to it. I am proud of the voice talent as is the rest of the team. I stand by our work 100% and if you do not like it, there is not much we can do to change that.

Everyone saying it's cheesy, but the voice acting in ShoC, CS and COP (especially COP) was also quite cheesy and bad. And that's the way I like it, cause it's signature

Nice comment PQNY!

My own personal goal when I started this project was finding voices that fit within LA's atmosphere. I also wanted to be consistent with the sound of the previous STALKER games. It was never a question of how good or bad the voice acting was, but how do the voices fit within our game world and the "sound" GSC established.

I know not everyone will be happy, but I think right now we have about 500 new lines of dialogue. That is a massive undertaking in itself and I hope people will appreciate all the time that has gone into this aspect of the game :)

I think that Call of Pripyat does have some HORRIBLE voice actors, like the time the missing sentry radios in and goes NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! Or how about the time you enter the lab, and the STALKERs down there say, "That is it, now you are gonna be WOoOAAURMMM FUOOOUUUUDDD!!!"

I think Lost Alpha's voice actors would make a suitable replacement for those guys in CoP.

Description

Hi everyone,

It is with pleasure that I present some samples of the completed voice over work for Lost Alpha!

During the last nine months there have been challenges due to university, work, family, etc… With all that in mind, I am very happy with what we have accomplished. I am proud to be involved with Dezowave and have the opportunity to work with this talented group.

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of the voice talent who contributed to Lost Alpha: Hauke "Zerknautscher" Kolle, Chris Roman, Justin Hand, Eugene Malygin, Serafim and new comer Stig “DragonNor" Sydtangen (who will also be helping us wrap up some final recordings).

A special thanks to Zerk, we could not have done it without him! He has been with us since day one and his dedication is to be commended!

Finally, thanks to all the fans patiently waiting for Lost Alpha! Good hunting S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S!!

LiquidBronze
