One day, Gordon woke up to the Gman. He saw a vortigaunt named Xonxt (as he found out later), Adrian Shepard, Isaac Kleiner, and Barney Calhoun. They had been informed of why they were there.

It happened three years after Half Life 2, Episode 3. He found out that the NIhilanth has a master. His master isn't the Combine, nor their leader. His leader is a monster from a planet named Maxirexia, leader of Renatusarm (Both Latin words (combined) ). He has tried to rule the universe and has used prisoners of war as soldiers. He built the collars on everyone's neck. Now everyone fights together to destroy them. But they are powerful and have a large army. This will be hard...

This mod is totally free (I hope to sell one on HL2, I'll try get rights and everything)

The First Post

Hi, guys.
We released the progress of Doom's Day today.
Until Now, we did some pretty easy stuff, but we're working really hard (I'm a one man army (seriously, besides my 2d artist I'm alone making this mod)).

  • Well, until now, we've been doing the manual.
  • The main menu (and multiplayer menu, custom game menu... that kind of stuff) is done (unless you don't like it).
  • Also, we've added the command menu, and the Message Of The Day.
  • We've improved almost all the half life models and added some. (Thank the internet for that)
  • We drew ideas for models.
  • We've added an MP3 player.
  • Sprites - improved

Here are some map modes we're thinking about:

1. Capture the Flag

6. Misc (like a soccer map)

Ok, I understand, I'll try making a few maps and models separately and get permission from Valve to make it in HL2. You guys are great and extremely patient with me. (I still know everybody hates me for what I did). And I'm trying to continue the story. That's why I added Xonxt. I'll ask permission for the name and continue.

Fine, I'll open up my own free mapping group and try make maps for the following: HL1, HL1 Mulitplayer, HL: Opposing Force, HL: Blue Shift, Counter Strike.

Woaahh buddy, you're trying to run before you've walked here, not to mention ****** a lot of people off for using other people's work without permission (I saw all the comments before you purged them). I'm not so harsh, I've been in the HL community for some time and it's taken a long time to get where I am today with my current project (10 years to be exact). Thus, I'll give you some guidance.

I suggest you sit down and think about what you're doing here, at the moment the project is all over the place and looks like you just threw random ideas together. Also for what you're trying to achieve, a lot of work is going to be a necessity here. I'd suggest given that this is obviously your first mod you should try sticking to basic works, make a map or a model, reskin something already in HL, do a comic strip or something. The problem commonly faced by newbie modders is they try to be too ambitious and end up shooting themselves in the foot during the process because they lack the skills and knowledge to accomplish their goal effectively.

Given enough experience with the construction process and practice on lesser projects, you will gradually build up the skill base to make an effective and decent mod. As it stands now, I'm sorry but you definately don't have the knowledge and talent required to pull this off.

Btw, if you're going to use HL2 characters in a HL1 mod, you'll have to make new models, porting HL2 content to HL1 is a big no no (ie illegal).

you know, xen is an other dimension, not a planet 0.o, so you are saying that the leader of the boss of xen, is from an other planet in an other dimension ? wut ???

Let me get a bit more blunt with you.

1. Everyone on Mod DB starts working on mod work without payment. Why? Because we are all in the learning process. None of us are getting payed because we like modifying games. Earning money actually nullifies the purpose of modding, since it is simply for the benefit of the community.

2. I don't care about age actually. I know many people in many different communities from age groups of 13-15. This doesn't mean that modders of a certain age are worse off than most. Hell, I think it's a great age to start, since your age has alot of free time to learn things. You should be worrying about learning how to do things, not the money. Money comes when you master something, which takes years. Take successful models like The Ship, or Counter Strike : Source. They started as free Gold Source mods, and they as they grew in popularity, they gained more ground and managed to become retail. What you are doing is wrong because you aren't thinking straight. First comes learning. Then comes mastery. Then comes popularity. Then comes money.

3. Starting your modding debut by making a mod is absurd. Hell, it's actually impossible. Not only are you not representing yourself in a timely fashion, you are rushing. This mod is dead from where is started because you do not understand the dynamics of game development like most of us do. Making a mod requires a hell of alot more work than you think, and unless your DAMN well dedicated, a devoted leader, and know how to do something with a considerable skill, no one will like your mod. And if no one likes it, no one will buy it. Everyone in the modding community starts small. I.E., make a pack, or make a texture overhaul on a model, or make a map for HL1 DM. You need to start small in order to understand the dynamics of modding, and when you accomplish that, people like me will actually volunteer to help you out.

I know it doesn't clear my history, but I am starting to make my own maps. The entrance map includes a biplane (using a func_train). Sorry to the HL world, valve, the creators of the models for what I did. I am sorry to you to, the people playing HL, including _DiamonD_. I need to go back to work.

Also, Sproily, can I use your snarks (only snarks, and we'll compromise what the payment is (I don't have money, so maybe I could make you a site, or improve it, or something))

PS, _DiamonD_ I want to be a computer game creator and I need to start now, even though I am only 13. Yes, 13 that's why I don't understand all the laws and stuff (It still doesn't make it right, I know)

Just because you deleted our comments doesn't clear your bad history and representation in Mod DB.

I honestly don't understand why you'd want to sell a mod, regardless of engine. You don't seem to understand why most of us do what we do.

Oh, and by the way, this mod was dead even before it started.

This mod is temporarily will be temporary archived because I didn't make enough content for it yet. I'll put it back online when I'm done with the first two chapters of my mod.
