Jedi Knight Galaxies is an immersive, competitive and innovative multiplayer shooter, played out in the Star Wars universe. Currently a full conversion mod (soon to go standalone), the project was originally based on and modified from Raven Software’s Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. Jedi Knight Galaxies is available completely free of charge. We aim to develop the project into a Large Multiplayer Online game, crossing traditional RPG (role playing game) elements with the fast paced excitement of an FPS (first person shooter). The game is supported by its community and developers, contribution is encouraged and newbies are welcome. The current development team comes from a variety of backgrounds, countries, and age, united by our desire to make a great game. Welcome to Jedi Knight Galaxies, where we break the limits!
Don't mind the weird chat, we're working on the text rendering.
i couldn't help not reading the text and bleeding from a chopped of arm would not take long to die from it. about 10-30 seconds and im guessing that you would be dead. also it would be quite painful so if your making such a feature then the character cannot have perfect aim as if not thing was happening.
Arm chopped off? Seek immediate medical attention >:D
That's unnecessary. 'Tis only a flesh wound.
@ElfFriend: I think you're right in this case. Assuming it's your right arm, you might actually drop your weapon as well. Of course, sabers are very much under wraps, and we won't have a detailed analysis for people until much later (possibly after Phase 1. we aren't sure yet)
Can't wait to play this. It's going to be incredible!
Just wondering, will this be using the default skeleton?
Yes.
thanks, so does this mean that I can use custom characters from other mods?
Probably as replacements similar to MB2. I'm not certain as to what our policies are with modding JKG.
Now that I've given it some thought, I've gone ahead and purposefully allowed people to use whatever model they want. However, people will see the default model if it is not allowed.
I am curious about what is happening with sabers, is there dismemberment? did they rework the combat? is it third or first person (or both)?
As I said before, sabers are currently in the gray area. Combat is indeed reworked. Both, but subject to change.
As much as I love the style of your HUD: Isn't it a bit impractical?
You have ammo and health/shields in COMPLETELY different corners, not even in the same half of the screen.
Couldn't that possibly lead to some problems in combat, etc.? Having your eyes dart across the screen to know how you're doing might distract from the actual action.
Still, this is looking really good, nice to see progress.
A lot of our weapons have ammo counters right on the gun, so that ammo counter isn't always necessary, but I can see your point!
We also have an idea for a feature which may also make the ammo counter in the corner even less necessary.
Thanks for the feedback :)
Good point, however, I've found it doesn't really effect your ability to play much at all.
