Half-Life 2 mod | Released Aug 9, 2005
To state the criminally obvious, Instagib : Source will bring the fast-paced, adrenaline filled and competitive game of instagib to the Half-Life 2 engine.
We will be aiming for several graphical improvements over UT2004 instagib, such as a better weapon model and greatly improved effects, including PS2.0 and DX9 effects.
We are also aiming at this stage to code a UT-like jumping and dodging system into the mod, and are also thinking about possible secondary fire options for the instagib rifle.
All these options will be configurable, so that players can play base instagib alone or add the dodging system and secondary fire options as they see fit. Team DM is also a definite possibility.

Well, the first release of Instagib for HL2 is now done for everyone to enjoy. You can get it here.

i played it no one plays its its shows a mans pravits when you kill some one and ITS DUMB no hardfeeling
this is deader then eddy murphy in an alabama white zone.XD
Had everyone install this for a recent lan and had a blast, with gravity_200 and friction_0 the game turns into something else. The animations and gun models are awesome.

Try finding some free server hosting sites
or find some cheap server hosting sites and get them to host your game in a 24/7 server
it cant be that hard
Look it real simple if ya gonna make a multiplayer mod you can at least ATTEMPT to host a friggin server for it ;(

The site was down around time of the launch which really sucked in terms of people downloading it. Apparently we were using too much bandwith and so we got locked down for a while. It's back online now though and you can download from a bunch of mirrors listed on the files page.
inu_burner_X: read the readme. If the game crashed, its probably because you didnt copy any maps from HL2DM and tried to just host a game. If HL2 cant find any maps, it just crashes.
Hopefully thats your problem anyway.

San-J: Thanks for your suggestions! We would probably never take out dodging because its just too fun. Im aware the mod is very laggy, this release was more about just making something that works rather than making something that works well, if you know what i mean. Netcode's a pain in the ass. We arent sure yet if we will ever make another version, mainly because HL2 is just the worst SDK to work with that ive ever seen. We're happy to let anyone with the skills to have our code and make improvements and additions, but we'd probably never do it ourself - there's other mods we need to work on.

What the hell? They have an entire game for this already, and it's called Unreal Tournament.
I mean, Jesus, they even modelled the rifle after the classic Shock Rifle. They didn't forget the dodge moves either. Although, Half-Life 2 does have the physics thing.
