Also, forgot to mention, I had to format my drive C: and reinstall windows...5 times, as each time I got a fatal error. Now it's fine. I just lost the freeman model.

Wahhgg dude take it ease. There is not THAT important for EVERYONE to comment. There is certain people who doesn't want to comment.

Even Black Mesa Source (and I say BMS because it has a heck load of visits) has only 2 or 3 pages of comments per image... and each image has like 100k of visits. Just focus in making good stuff.

Almost any mod fill one image of comments nowadays, just superb mods.

I don't get the last line of what you said. But look. I, as a modder, don't have to make this mod. The only reason I do, is for the community. And to learn, of course, but I can learn in far easier ways. If the community doesn't want to comment, why should I make the mod? Why should any of us make mods? Also, when you comment, it benefits you, as I work harder (as I'm motivated), and I fix the problems (when you criticize me). Oh, and by the way, I'm not asking for 2 pages of comments. I'm asking for what I ask of everyone else. 10 comments per image. That's not fair to us, but it'll have to do.

Sorry if I seem selfish or anything. But I ask the least of you guys. For all modDB. If you see an image, at least THINK about commenting on it. I worked ALL day on this, instead of playing Sven Coop, or hang out with my friends. I'm not even asking for more comments than anyone else, because I'm a lone modder.

In fact, you mod just for fun. You're free to quit modding now. Noone is forcing you. Just quit. You'll be forgotten in 1 or 2 months. That's the bad thing about being a modder just for fun.
Viewers support you unconsciously while watching your progress, there is no need of comments. The last line is wrong spelled haha... It was late nite and I was felling lazy. I meant that almost every mod nowadays have only a few comments. You have quite a few! There are worst situations, like zero comments.
The only thing you can achieve doing this is that people would think you don't want to show media because of a stupid thing. A comment more, a comment less, it's the same!
When you decided to post your mod in here, you knew there were a chance of being just another mod, but I think is more than that. I usually watch it but never commented on it, mainly because you always ask for techinical stuff, and a heck load of people reply first so is pointless. And to say just a "nice"... it's more pointless. I just comment when I don't like something or stuff like that, so the fact I didn't comment so far is good, not bad. You can think it that way.
Or continue doing this a making people like me think you're more interested in being popular than in modding.

If you see any other spelling mistake shout at me and I will clarify what I meant to say.

Look, do you want mods you play to be better or worse? Better, probably. That's what commenting does. Also, I don't want to be popular. But I am making the mod for the community. Sure, it's fun, but not NEARLY as fun when you're modding alone. It would be more fun to play with my friends. Sure, I learn, but there's easier ways to learn.

Also, I'm not ASKING that everyone favors me, nor that people just comment for the sake of commenting. I just ask that the community comments, not only on my mod, but every mod, more often. That's fair, isn't it? Look, how about this: we all just forget about the conversation. I would like it if you commented more, but not if it makes you angry.

No it isn't. **** ain't fair dude. There are several modders who should be recognized. Anyway, I think I get your point now, but it was confusing in a first time. I'm not feeling like arguing now. I'm arguing with too many people lately. Good luck.

Dude, you have the wrong Idea about this. TONS of people are making games for free, im even doing it. Sure I like feed back, but threatening not to do work because of people not commenting as much as you like, that isn't cool.

You are great at what you do, and I respect you for that, but you should push on with your game, no matter what people think, or lack of comments. Sometimes you post model v.1,v.2,etc pictures, and people like to see that, but they aren't going to make 100 comments every time you push a little progress.

I'm not asking for 100 comments. I'm talking of about 15. It's only fair. Not for me, but for EVERY modder. We work our heads off. If people start commenting on 2/3 images they see, that'd make me happy.

Thanks for what you said, though.

I'm not saying that everyone should comment on MY mod. I'm saying that the only thing that fuels us modders is comments. We can't make mods without comments. I'm saying that why SHOULD we make mods? I didn't mean to make anyone upset. People need comments for encouragement, and criticism to make the mod better. And in the last image, I got 4 comments. And a lot of times, they make no sense, and when I ask for specifics, they don't answer. Besides, we're giving up a lot of our lives to make these mods. it's the least we should get. Notice the WE, as in all modders. I'm asking for 15 comments from 15 people. Is that too much to ask for? The same for EVERY modder, again.

*sighs* Look guys. I'm sorry. It's just very hard for me. It - a lot of times - feels like I'm making this for nothing. It's a ton of work. I just need some support. I might seem childish, but I don't feel this is very fair. Comment if you want. I decided I'll still work on the mod. But I deeply request some, if you can spare it. Sorry if I made you upset.

Oh, and off topic - don't forget to download the new version of Sven Coop!

I hope nothing major has been lost :(

I'm sorry that people dont comment as much as you would expect
some people see this is nice and think that there is no need to comment over it because its so epic that they think you know it. (still means i think this mod would come out epic)

I Hope nothing more then that freeman model has been, its a shame that much of your work would get deleted due to a format.

Hope everything turns better

I like getting comments, but me personally as a modder, it doesn't fuel me. Its self motivation for a game I like. Same with many other games. Use your own motivations.

Support? what are you an emotional mess about your game? sounds like it :/

I want to share my thoughts about the commenting - not commenting argument here. Look, I like your mod, but I think that commenting on everything everytime is just pointless. Maybe this fills your motivation, its good that you want to share something with the community, but it isnt necessary to everyone.
As for me, for example, even if I'm always glad that someone takes the time to comment on my work, I think that I'm really selfish XD I'm not doing my mod for the community, I'm doing it because I feel the urge to do so, its hard to explain. Lets put it this way: I fell in love with the RE4 Beta material and I wanted to play that game so bad that I actually started creating it on my own. Its a personal need. SO, although comments are important, they're not VITAl. At least IMHO

It's always nice to know that there's feedback between developers and potential players is possible, but don't take it wrong. A comment doesn't mean "hey dude, I am here to support ya" As biodude said, some people doesn't feel like commenting, but they are there, checking your stuff.

And hope you don't get mad at this, but you don't do your mod to make the community happy: it's always about you. :P Is not like "hey, I want the community to be happy, so, I'll make a mod for them!". That just does not work.

Motivation is not seeing you've got 40 comments in a page. Motivation is that urge need inside you that pushes you to do what you love.

Look guys, sometimes, people just pop. Me, because of pressure from my fellow modders to create things from them, and not having a partner. Well, I DO have a partner, but he's was busy. It's just so much stress, and I'm not used to it. I just popped.

I mod because it's what I love to do. Indeed, it's not the most fun things ever, but it's among them. But it is very hard, and I feel uncredited. It's not your duty to comment, but I encourage it, not only for me, but for all modders. It makes the mod better. Even world-class developers need to know what we're doing wrong. From the bottom of my heart, I apologize. I'll understand if you stop tracking the mod altogether, but please don't become an enemy. I'm only 14. I know that's no excuse, but it's the truth. I learnt something very valuable, but I wish it hadn't been at such a cost as to lose friends.

Description

So, guys, obviously, I haven't posted in 2 weeks. Wanna know why? Honestly, I'm sick and tired of seeing around 3-10 comments for an image. Is it fair? I'm giving you a free game. A mod. I gain nothing from this. The least you could do is post a comment. So, therefore, I did a mini-boycott. And unless you want this to happen more often, I suggest you comment.

Now, here is something interesting. A new entity - the "trigger_renameactivator". It renames the activator of the trigger. So if a player hits a trigger_once, or presses a func_button that targets a trigger_renameactivator, he gets renamed to whatever you want. This way, you can render the player, make stuff follow him, and all kinds of stuff. It's a very simple, yet useful entity. Even (for multiplayer), when a player respawns, he keeps the name. It can also be used for monsters.

This was originally in the upcoming version of SvenCoop, but SvenViking allowed me to add the IDEAS of it to the mod. I had to code it myself. I must, though, credit him, and the mod. Thanks again, sven!
