Well, I've finished translating that single mission we did so far, as well as the basic skirmish mode, now you can well enjoy them!
Just put this mod here to tell everybody that we NEVER stopped (some members of the group really kept quiet for so long though).
This mod is even older then another project(see Homeworld2: Free Mod) of our group. In fact, we got together right for this mod: to make a campaign of the Vaygr. Yeah, that's our whole idea in the beginning, and now two years have passed, things changed a lot. We got another idea and developed free mod, but when it reached V0.06, we have to stop because of too many problems. I'll explain it there instead of here. In the meanwhile, we caught some good ideas from the DOW series, and put them into this mod. We finally named it "Dark Times Mod", and here it is.
-Remake the Hiigara and Vaygr, create two carrier battle groups to replace them. Each battle group's flagship is a strong carrier.
-Deathmatch rule changed: Player cannot be killed before all his ships were destroyed or all his and his allies' flagship(s) were destroyed.
-Achievement system added. 10 kinds of achievements can be reached so far, and each kind have three levels, players can gain experience and even technologies by reaching an achievement.
-Each player is his battle groups' commander, and need to gain experience to improve his ability to make the fleet stronger. How to do so? Spend RUs, kill enemy squadrons, or capture enemy ships.
-There are three kinds of ability that a player-commander have, they are: control, fight, and technique. Simply, control ability make the fleet bigger, fight ability make each unit stronger, and technique ability make the fleet have more kinds of unit. While things won't go that simple...
-There's also a commander for each kind of unit (none for collectors, probes, etc.), they also need to live and fight to make this kind of unit stronger.
-Also, a system was added in the very beginning, by which players can summon some special units to join in the battle immediately.
-A new game mode, maybe more. Based on new gameplay and some new ideas.
-The most important, our final goal: a campaign with a story from the rising of the Vaygr till several years later than the End War. Mainly focus on one of these two carrier battle groups: the "Falcon", sixth 'special' carrier battle group of the Vaygr.
