6p wreckage action on a HW2 remake of the HW1 Karos Graveyard. Comes with an additional 2p (duel) version, bonus 3p FFA map & HW1 Karos OST + background files.
The Karos Graveyard found in FX v1.88 was probably -the- HW2 remake that got the closest to its HW1 equivalent. Since it remained absent in subsequent releases, we kindly asked 9CCN to bring it back. With the help of liuruoyang1995, who was as kind as to dig up and send me the corresponding files, we are now able to bring you the Karos Graveyard in its full glory -- not the shabby HW2 SP version, but a version stays loyal to its HW1 original. Comes with the HW1 Karos Graveyard OST & In-Game Background to further bring out that HW1 vibe.
[Notes]
- The map may cause slight lag on some PCs. As you continue to play (and thus harvest the debris), the lag will decrease.
- If you are using the Hw1 Karos Graveyard theme, the In-Game Music Player will need to be disabled on the corresponding maps. (as the theme is not present in the Music Player files).
- The background is not assigned to any maps by default. You can edit the .level files to add it (as well as the HW1 Karos Graveyard Soundtrack), to any (other) maps that you want to use it on. Instructions below.

[Installation]
- Extract the /Data/ folder to your "\Sierra\Homeworld2\" directory.
[Editing Files (Optional)]
- For using the HW1 Karos In-Game Background or Soundtrack on other maps:
- Open the appropriate .level file with wordpad/notepad (if editing the Karos Graveyard maps in this pack, open the 2p_karos.lua and/or 6p_karos.lua files instead)
** .level files are found in either the \Homeworld2\Data\leveldata\multiplayer\Deathmatch folder (vanilla Hw2 / most other mods) or the \Homeworld2\Data\leveldata\multiplayer\fxdeathmatch folder (FX 2.0 and onwards). **
- For adding the HW1 Karos In-Game Background to a map:
- Find (Ctrl + F or scroll down) the "loadBackground" line near the bottom of the .level file
- Change it to:
loadBackground("ez13")
- For adding the HW1 Karos Soundtrack to a map:
- Find (Ctrl + F or scroll down) the "setDefaultMusic" line near the bottom of the .level file
- Change it to:
setDefaultMusic("Data:sound/music/staging/Karos Graveyards")
- Save the files.

great map, but after installation, every single map in the game has the same background! (the karos graveyard as seen above.)
I thought this was a independent level addon, not just a background image.
also something was wrong with the player vs CPU mission I played after selecting Karos Graveyard from the mission list. some enemy units, including motherships, would move out of the map boundary making it impossible for me to destroy them and win.
