Step back into the boots of Frank Harrison, a member of the resistance, with the gameplay and graphical improvements Half-Life 2: MMod offers.
Thank you to mrbramblet for giving Fesiug's Gravity Gun model MMod animations, and both of them for permission to use it here! I'd also like to thank Zippys2, his comment to someone else gave me enough information to start the patch.
This was created while IDKFA-93's patch was unlisted for authentication. I had no idea it was released. If you'd rather your patches be consistent with his, I fully recommend downloading his patch! I'll keep mine up in case you'd like to have the minor differences, such as the original font for the HUD and the original Gravity Gun model.
1.2 - Cleared up the content mounting issues entirely.
1.1 - Fixed blackout.mdl bug locking player on the first map.
1.01 - Fixed skill.cfg
- Installation Requirements -
Before you install this compatibility patch, make sure the following things are installed:
• Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer and Half-Life 2: Episode Two
You also need to be enrolled in Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer's 'upcoming' beta branch.
Here's how to do it:
- Right-click on Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer.
- Click on "Properties..."
- Go to the "Betas" tab.
- Change "None - opt out of all beta programs" to "upcoming"
- Restart Steam.
• HL2: MMod (v1.3)
• Dangerous World and the Source SDK 2013 patch:
Dangerous World V2
SDK 2013 Patch
- About Dangerous World -
You play as Frank Harrison, a human rebel.
Awakened in his hideout by the Citadel explosion, Frank heeds Dr. Kleiner's recording and fights his way through the city to join the evacuation train.
Gather your supplies and an old HEV suit, then carve your path through City 17. Before it is too late.
It is recommended to play through Half-Life 2 and the episodes before playing this mod.
- Installation -
Extract the "HL2MMod_DW" folder into your sourcemods folder. Then restart your Steam client.
Big Bug: The first level doesn't work at all. There's a camera that locks the play in place, so you can't move after the intro map.
Fixed it
What's the difference from this one? Moddb.com
New comment so as not to confuse anyone:
I fixed most janky aspects by mounting older content on top of EP2's, just as IDKFA did, so other than the custom Gravity Gun model ( Gamebanana.com ), original font for the hud, and a game logo that uses the original mod's stylized text, they are nearly identical.
If you'd rather keep your patches consistent between all of IDKFA-93's, definitely download his ( Moddb.com ). I happened to search for a Dangerous World patch while his was unlisted, and thought I was clear to make one myself. Whoops :p
So, which Dangerous World 2.0 MMOD 1.3 Capability Patch is the best one to use?
Personally? this one. It feels better to play?, and ports a lot of the small-detail stuff like the font. However, the other one has certain areas that look nicer(eg: the zombie-or setpiece. in general, either one works.
(I totally didn't port all the models/textures to work as custom addons for any MMod game. Honest :P )
EDIT: This dude is making an effort to fix things! the Zombie-door setpeice is re-established! I'd definitely go this one then.
Your welcome man i don't think that info was so useful :V
It was definitely enough! From there I kinda worked out what needed to be added and what not, so you know... useful :p
Are there any other elements of the original that are able to be restored such as: elements from nightmare house 2 like the ghost that stands there at the start of chapter 2, the text being English after gmans dialogue during that intro reel, I think a scare that occurs later in chapter 2 near the train station with the ghost guy, the hev suit having pure white textures, etc. Will add more if I run into them.
it crashes on start up "unable to load surface prop file"
