The player is a Resistance agent sent to investigate the status of a previously overrun base. Upon entry, he finds lingering Combine forces that spring a trap, forcing him to blast his way back out of the base.

Beach Level has three parts, each focusing on a different style of play. The first part is Reconnaissance, where the player lands on the beach and explores the area, searching for the entrance to the base. This part focuses heavily puzzles and exploration. The second part is Combat, where the player must fight his through the base. This part focuses heavily on combat. The third part is Escape, where the player must make his grand escape after successfully making his way through the base.

Actually it seems to play fine in HL2, at least I'm not seeing any missing objects or textures yet. I put the maps in steamapps/common/Half-Life 2/hl2/maps.

As I have noted for other mods, it is amazing to me that people will spend so much time making these, and won't take five minutes to post simple installation instructions for those among us who don't do this every day. I have no idea where to put the music files, but I don't really need those to play the maps.

Update: Loaded maps into Episode 2 as well, but I get the same error either way: when it tries to load map sp_w2, it drops back to the menu screen. If you use console to load map 2, you don't have the weapons you had acquired in the first map, other than whatever you have equipped in your hand when you exited map 1.

So this to be fixed.

Too bad, because the first map leads me to think this is a halfway decent mod.
