Oh. My. God.

Did I see EP coming from the Infinity?

No you did not. The Infinity does NOT have energy projectors. The ships stats are listed all over Waypoint. Didact, the artist for HHF, spoke with the guy who made Infinity for 343 and he also insisted it only has MACs, no energy weapons. 343 just ****** the effect up.

Sad cuz when I 1st played Halo 4 and saw that Infinity fired 2 beams I thought UNSC finally copied some Covenant weapons and put em on her and now I found out that they just ****** up MAC round effect its kinda killing me but what can I do about it...

They might just retcon that and say the Infinity acquired technology from Trevelyan and installed Forerunner Energy Projectors.

Anything can happen really.

Well, I know that some of the ONI ships did have minor EP weapons, however they weren't even 115 percent of what a covenant EP weapons was...

Nice work! I fear for all Covenant fleets and I hope the SD is an equally powerful vessel in it's own right!

I don't know if Infinity is a mid game ship. I mean it is a titan and all. I would say that at least this much should be expected from a titan class warship. Wonder what would the balance between it and its covie counterpart will be.

Ninja edit. I didn't notice the post stating this was for entertainment value. 3 CAS have something like 200k HP between shields and hp. The SD will like provide large scale buffs to the fleet and do insane DPS but will be fairly squishy in comparison to Infinity.

Looks like the Infinity took a bit of damage at the end. Still managed to destroy those carriers with ease as ecpected.

Is the Infinity more powerful than the Forerunner Centurion capital ship? If not, I fear the mantel's Approach.

how powerful will it's mac cannon be cos in lore they put smacs to hardcore shame

That's a difficult question to answer because it's not as straightforward as you might think. Over time the SMAC has been made less powerful due to plot events. In the first book they could literally annihilate anything. During Halo 2 the Prophet's flagship took several SMAC rounds on it's way to Earth's surface. Then in Halo 4 Mantle's Approach shrugs off SMAC rounds.

I find it more likely that the SMAC is a powerful weapon that Halo's writing team weakens for dramatic effect during critical elements to the main storyline. Right now in-game the Infinity's volley is on par with the SMAC.

It could be possible that the UNSC Infinity actually carries much larger MAC guns. After all, they are written down as Super-Heavy Magnetic Accelerator Cannons and are of entirely new design. That, and with the overall length of the Infinity being 5x larger than an ODP, it's entirely possible along with the Forerunner propulsion system and energy generation.

I love is completely, but I think the rate of fire for its MAC's combined with how many it has, may be a little OP.

Also, I swear I counted five MAC shots, I thought Infinity only had four.

Infinity has 5 barrels on her front, so we hardpointed and use all five.

The Halo lore dictates that the Infinity-class warship has precisely 4 CR-08 Series-8 Super-Heavy MAC guns. The fourth tube may be something different.

Will this Infinity, however, feature Mark 2551 Mass Drivers as its new broadside weapons?

We're not sure what the full loadout will be for the ship because there is a lot to consider. It's a very powerful ship in the canon. It'll have to be nerfed in some regards.

Well I imagine by level 10, you could probably reasonably up its power to near the cannon levels. Also does anyone ever wonder why the UNSC never added NOVA bombs to its compliment? Now wouldn't that make for a super ability!

I think the Nova bomb was a one of a kind prototype. Also, it completely destroyed a small moon, ruined the half of the planet facing it, and the winds destroyed the infrastructure on the other side of the planet. It'd be little OP in this game I think.

Due to ethics being understood by Humans in Halo, NOVA bombs were weapons of ultimate eradication, literally, since they annihilate entire planets with a single cluster warhead.

That's why the UNSC refuses to field weapons like that... that, and there is really no enemy that would warrant the usage of a NOVA bomb. NOVA bombs, in reality, are cheap to make - the UNSC needs 9 ordinary thermonuclear fusion warheads and lithium triteride.

*Evil laughing* Glorious! Glorious!! Bit sad that they messed up the effects in Halo 4 and got my hopes up for energy weapons. Oh well maybe next time

UNSC does have more than 1 NOVA bomb, I remember in one of the books (Ghosts of Onyx i think) Cortana sent a message to High Com asking them to NOVA bomb instillation 05 and High Charity to stop the flood.
I say they probably warrant NOVA bomb usage...as a matter of fact why didn't they just do that in Halo 3?

Could have been just as intense, anyway it stands to reason that Infinity would be equipped with them (being charged with exploration of deep space and discovering new worlds [maybe even new races] and the flood can't be totally eradicated...right?)

Exploration means that the ship does not have a total WMD loadout, you do know that, right?

So, for peaceful reasons, the Infinity has its standard ship-to-fleet (literally) combat armament, and not planet-destroying NOVA bombs.

I'm just saying, if i was Serin Osman. Or Parangosky and I knew about the flood I would arm the most likely ship to come into contact with them with the best weapon to remove them. Besides it got HAVOKs, probably Shivas, why not something with a bit more punch as a "Just in case scenario." probably could have made the Requiem campaign more interesting. Imagine a mission where you sneak a NOVA bomb onto Jul Mandama's ship! Though I guess that could backfire if he goes somewhere important like Sanghelios.

Well, there's also the threat of it being detonated on-board, and if I were Admiral, I would NOT risk the most powerful ship in humanity's possession over a "just in case" scenario.

I have to say I am impressed with the progress made on infinity. Before I honostly wasn't a fan but now I cant wait to get my hands on that ship. Also I think the 1,2,3,4,5 Mac rounds is better than fire ring them all at the same time I hope you chose to keep that.

Man.. 3 CAS cost like 6 captains and 150 crew.. The Infinity better costs more than that.
