how do you guys get these kinds of shots! mine always end up to dark to see anything. :(

You have to change the skyboxes, some are naturally dark and cast a very dark shadow on all the units unless they are in a suns gravity well

to do this, go to settings, deep space skyboxes, and just toggle that until you find one you like.

I use Dev.exe when I make my shots. I spawn in the ships I want to be in the photo, and position them how I like. I then scroll through the Sky boxes and select one with the best lighting I can find for the picture. After that its all up to satisfying my overly picky sense of happiness with the shot angle...
