Typical "journalism" - only show half the story, often with bias one way or another... Anyway, what's with the apparent 'battle damage' on the nose of the OAS? Is it mentioned somewhere as to why the really big space ship has holes in its nose?

That's just the design of the Assault Carrier. Part of her visual flair. They design the ships, we just copy them, lol.
