A Halo mod for the critically acclaimed Sins of a Solar Empire, that aims to capture the fast paced intensity of the Halo series.
Clocking in at an extremely streamlined 220 triangles, the Dropship sees significant action in the mod during United Nation invasions of hostile worlds.
is this just the thing the colony ships spit out, or will this be like a boarding party ship.
Read the description please...
it will be instead of missiles for bombardment. Which in my opinion makes much more sense, love this idea!
excellent skin work; ramps up the detail enormously.
Well, that's Annihilater for you.
What's the texture resolution? 512x512?
It's... Too green. o_o
Perhaps make it darker?
I actually agree with you.
Amazing but it needs a darker green tone.
I too agree. But the overall work is just fantastic.
The color you are looking for, is Olive Drab
Also i know the Pelican is more famous but why don't you use the Phoenix-Class dropships?
I say that because i am concerned about the scale ratio between the pelican and bigger ships...
Wouldn't it be a bit too large in comparision?
Also, you would need hundreds of pelicans for a decent invasion, which seems quite impratical.
The are being used for the actual colonization particle, the pelicans are being used for the bombardment particle and hopefully ODST drop pods are going to also be used for special bombardment particles.
^This.
Having this as it's own ship would be absurd.
I never meant that, i said that berlin-class could deploy the dropships instead of pelicans.
Or a mix of the two would be better.
it be cool if it had the tanks and worthogs attached to it
Give this man a cookie and a smile because his idea was approved.
PLEASE.
Would individual warthogs and tanks be possible? Different variants of warthog being attached to different pelicans and things like that.
I'm going to have to be a buzzkill regarding this.
Not only are the Pelicans extremely small anyways, but the entire point of their design was to keep them low-detail. Adding extra, likely unseen detail would be wasted effort when we still have so much to do.
Even if it were going to be done, it wouldn't be all that realistic. Warthogs, Scorpions, and other ground vehicles could be mounted on a Pelican during atmospheric entry. Not only would they mess up the aerodynamics of the Pelican, they'd break apart from atmospheric friction. Atmospheric entry is a very sensitive procedure at the best of times due to the amount of friction and heat generated. They'd only be able to survive with an energy shield or an external blast shield mounted to protect the cargo, neither of which Pelicans were equipped with. If it couldn't be carried internally on a Pelican, it would have had to reach the surface in the drop ships, then be airlifted by the Pelicans.
could NOT be mounted, darn typos
Exactly. This is why they had the Albatross. Also no one ask for a goddamn Albatross model.
So when are you putting in an Albatross model?
I'll just take my leave now...
i threw money at the screen
cant wait for the release (covenant mostly)
These are awesome. Also, I'm having some difficulty telling, since I haven't played much Halo recently, but which era is this based off of? Only one I think it's not is Combat Evolved.
2543. Nine years prior to Halo Combat Evolved.
are you going to let the bombing ship spawn multiple dropships at the same time? one seems kinda lonely don't ya think ^^ like...3 or 5, maybe more depending on the scale compared to its owning ship, a ship with more bombing damage could sent more pelicans! :D (capitalships etc)
